Cartoon Network.....why?

Well, depending how Teen Titans and Batman go, I soon may have no reason to watch CN anymore.

Blame is best placed on failed effort placed into these titles. Neither received merchandise beyond cheap DVDs nor were either rerun. 'Action' titles don't really have a place on Cartoon Network or in the hearts of those who run it. Teen Titans Go! being comedy-centric, Ben 10 being thrown under the creative bus after Alien Force's first season, and the ignoring of Star Wars: The Clone Wars are clear signs of this. With Beware the Batman the only 'straight' action title on the horizon I'd say it's only a matter of time for that series to flop giving CN the excuse to never touch action again. To be frank, I wouldn't even care.

I honeslty can't believe these two got cancelled, and what even infuriates me even more is what they are going to be replaced with, yet another batman show(he obviously doesn't have enough representation in the media) and an even more lighthearted version of the teen titans. Least I won't have to worry about canada getting shafted in terms of season passes anymore since Im probably not watching another cartoon network show for the forseeable future. I still got my korra and tmnt so CN can rot for all I care.

What the upfront PR specifically means is that YJ and GL TAS aren't coming back this year (+ "early 2014" I suppose). My reasoning is that this is not necessarily meaningful news given that this was almost certainly not in the cards in the first place, between the time it takes to put the episodes together and the new programming they're making time for on the block this year.

I have no idea what they'll do with DC Nation programming next. But I think it's reasonable to be agnostic on whether in 2014 we see 2nd seasons of Beware the Batman + Teen Titans Go, new YJ or GL TAS and/or completely new programming altogether. What separates these from other action shows cut short is that they have been rerun in contrast to Tron Uprising, Motorcity, ThunderCats + Sym-bionic Titan, which were one-and-done and considered to be underachievers by the suits.

GWOtaku, you need to be realistic. Thundercats Lair fans made the same argument and that didn't hold true either. The truth is the they are "dead Jim."

I don't know guys. I'd like to hope that it is coming back but almost everything is pointing to its conclusion. It has been a good run though. Sporadic, but good. Question: We were informed about Invasion well before the conclusion of season one, weren't we? Or was it close to its premiere which was like a week after the season finale?

The announcement for Invasion was too early and sort of botched, imo, as Weisman had to do a lot of clarification after the Upfront. They announced Invasion on March 23rd, 2011 during an infamous season one hiatus, between "Bereft" (March 11th, 2011) and "Targets" (September 16th, 2011) airings on CN.

They were rerun Jacob, I clearly remember the vexation there was at the wait for new episodes while those were on the air. Not at all sure the home video release is really at fault either. DVD still seems to be the norm for TV animation releases; even Legend of Korra and Adventure Time will not and did not see a proper HD release out of the gate (though in fairness, at least those releases include extras).

Also I'd venture that Steven Universe will count as an "action show", but that's for another thread I suppose.

I wasn't very clear. I meant more than once a week at a time of day people would be watching. As for the DVDs, the point is a bit more that they slapped the shows on cheap-oh releases and through them out there as their only source of recoup. If you're going to do that you might as well simply aim to the niche.

CN/WB seem to be stuck in this position of not really wanting to do anything with their shows while just expecting to make their money back off of unceremoniously released DVDs that they print too many of and sell for too little. One would think that is to make it easy for parents to buy them for the kids, but if they were targeting kids you'd think they'd actually act.

First time it's happened without Disney being involved (Gargoyles, WITCH, Spectacular Spider-Man), but this guy seriously can't work on a show without it ending after two seasons.
All well, another one bites the dust. Happens too often for me to get upset.

I am holding out some faint hope that YJ might yet get a third season that might run after the first season of TTG!. I know the prosect isn't encouraging, though, especially with confirmation of the end of GL:TAS from its showrunner.

I'm one those who thinks that Young Justice is the best animated series on televison right now, but unlike a lot of fans, I'm actually not as upset about the series ending, as long as it gets to finish out the current season and gets released on DVD. I'm sure we could have gotten a lot more great episodes, but I'm happy with what we did get and glad it was a solid run. I really don't think I'm going to care all that much for Beware the Batman or Teen Titans Go, so I suspect the only thing left on television, as far as animation goes, that I'll like will be The Legend of Korra (whenever it returns). As for Greg Weisman, Brandon Vietti, and the rest of the Young Justice production group goes, I'm really hoping they get together with Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, and the rest of the DC Animated movie producers and work on some more great DTV releases with the same high level of quality that they gave us on Young Justice.

It has already been confirmed by other sites who talked to WB that this is canceled so unless they got the wrong info, this show is good as dead.

This is the best DC Animated show yet in my opinion, CN can go to hell right now, it's an absolute joke, this show had at least one more season in it.

The toyline was hardly supported. When it's business as usual for a company to fail to make merchandise a central part of their franchising there is a problem.

As always when stuff like this happens we just gotta remember to relax and think before we post. This isn't the first time CN has made fans angry but let's try to be cool about the whole thing.

I didn't follow YJ much after the first season but I was planning on getting caught up on it soon. Guess I can hope that they don't end on a cliffhanger.

Geez, people sure are getting all worked up over a TV show. It's not a big deal to me. Yes, Young Justice is one of my favorite TV shows, but it's not like I lost a family member, friend, or a nessecity. I know I'm repeating myself, but is Young Justice really that darn important?

As for me, I still have shows on Cartoon Network to watch, in addition to many other shows on other channels, both animated and live-action. I'm more concerned about stuff happening in real life than a show.

Also, is whining about it on some Internet forum going to make much of a difference?

Batman is gonna be a success because he's Batman. He's a huge franchise coming off another hit movie and they'll prop up and support it because he's one of WB's crown jewels.

Just because I'm more concerned about stuff in real life doesn't mean I have zero interest in TV shows. If I wasn't interested, I wouldn't be watching them or talking about them. Why else would I be a member of this forum, other than it's not a wretched hive of scum like other forums I've been to?

I like this show and it's a little sad to see it cancelled, but I can accept its cancellation and move on.

We all have lives and real life things to deal with, but we all put it aside to talk about TV shows. Unfortunately, some don't always come to sing praises of a show nor react the same way. That's the beauty of a forum. I've noticed you always tend to start off a post with the same line, and it's sort of insulting to everyone else here.
