"Stu Go" News And Discussion Thread

The show is now on Disney Plus so watch it.
Also every short is here in one video

Here's the Sara short individually.

(No mention of a parent so Sara and Sarah can still count as test tube babies!!!!)

Interesting that these a narrator throughout the episode. Other than scatting the CTT theme song, I don't think this was necessary however.

The only other time I've seen Chibi Tiny Tales have voices is when it's a short about a song.

"Review: “Stugo”: A Summer Adventure Turns Wacky"

Stugo-1.jpeg

"StuGo is the latest Disney Channel animated series, and it’s here to take us away to an island of the strange. The series is about six gifted middle school students who go to an island for the summer, on the pretense that it is a summer camp. Instead, there is no summer camp, but there is a mad scientist on an island of her creations.

The show has a cast of six interestingly strange middle schoolers. Starting with Pliny, she’s the one to take charge and not give up easily. While I think the group doesn’t seem to have a leader, she does seem to be the most leader-like of the characters. Merian has an interesting ’80s power suit look; she is the one who breaks down the easiest, and she never can relax. She has a dolphin sister, which gives you a sense of what this show is like. “Chip Manhands,” that’s not his real name, but he’s going for a summer image, and this name he dubbed himself gives you what he is about. He’s a nerdy boy, who wants to be seen as strong and tough. He doesn’t have that, but he has good brains and a heart.

Larry is the only other boy in the group; he gives off a younger brother vibe to the whole cast in his character. He’s sweet and charming, and brings his own strangeness. Sara is interesting in that she seems to be the least moral of the characters. She can be a jerk, but she does care about the others. She also has a few little secrets. Her toughness and competitiveness put her at odds with characters, especially Pliny. Francis speaks matter-of-factly and seems to be in a state of constant chill. She’s definitely the opposite of Merian. She is kind and caring, but you don’t get that impression from her expressions."

An Actually positive review of this show that's well thought out & I can agree almost wholeheartedly with it - especially whom has become a fan of this show, without saying too much at once.
Imma be sad if this don't get a Season 2. It more than deserves it, dangit.

Bad news. Titmouse decided to not produced Stugo for season 2.

Remember that this is Owlphibia who said that. They've been wrong on many occasions before. But even if they aren't this time, at least there's no cliffhanger ending,

I really tried but I could not get into it. I can totally watch it without any complaints, but I gave it about eight episodes and I just could not get into it. I do give it credit for being different from most other recent Disney cartoons and I really liked the character designs.

I watched a bit of it didn't have many strong feels towards it. Perhaps I didn't like the animation or the art style. I do like that the premise is something different.

but with it being completely episodic maybe it lacked a sense of purpose that could have probably made up for it's flaws. It has a very simple premise but maybe it's also just too simple. It just came across as mid to me.

Ryan Gillis says that the show isn't "officially" cancelled, and that Disney is waiting for streaming numbers to decide on renewal.

But every single DTVA creator has said the exactly same thing this decade. "[X] show is not cancelled, but there hasn't been an official renewal yet, so watch the show on streaming to show Disney there's demand". And in all cases, the show just ended.

Disney has gotten into the habit of cancelling shows without actually using the "c" word. They will just postpone making a decision on renewing a show indefinitely and let the crew's employment contracts run out. It happened to Molly McGee, it happened to Hailey's On It, it happened to Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, It happened to Primos, and it's almost certainly what's happening with StuGo.

Creators hanging onto a lack of an "official" cancellation and panhandling for streaming views should be recognized as the kiss of death for DTVA shows from now on. StuGo could certainly buck this well-established trend, but it will be very surprising if it does.

I can understand why the kids put up with Dr. Lullah. They have no choice. They're stuck on her island all Summer. But why do the mutants put up with her?

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
