IIRC, RKO's distribution in the late 50's was actually handled by Universal-International. The RKO backlog of movies was sold to the C & C Cola company, and ended up in the hands of United Artists. That's how Turner ended up with them.

All Famous Studios cartoons made between the second half of 1950 and 1962, except for the Popeye toons were sold to Harvey. U.M.&M. T.V. Corp got the ones up to at least the Little Audrey cartoon "Goofy Goofy Gander". The U.M.&M. sale did include the cartoons with the soon to be Harvey...

Paramount/Viacom, thought having reacquired the U.M.&M./NTA library, does not have video rights to the Republic Pictures/NTA/U.M.&M library. The video rights are controlled by Artisan for a year or two.

In May 1997, I saw "Boy Meets Dog" with Universal titles, on Matinee at the Bijou on the Atlanta public television station.

Film Preservation Associates owns the Flip the Frog cartoons. I believe the Ub Iwerks estate owns the rights to the characters.
