(Two months later seems like a good time to respond...)
I'm sure we could carry a lively discussion about the details, but I see no reason to disagree in this context.
They do? That's actually news to me. Huh.
...I don't follow -- at least, no more so than any other time South Park "should" be...
Hi everyone, one of Them (y'know, the deluded, outnumbered censorship apologists) here. At the risk of inspiring a religious flame war, I just wanted to throw this out there:
Does anyone think that the fact that, where many religions might be offended by the treatment they sometimes get from...
I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but I happened across the X-Men DVD release (all four volumes of it) a few days ago. At first, I was at least a little thrilled that the series was finally out there -- hard, legal and surprisingly affordable -- until I noticed something confusing...
Alright, I get that. I haven't read the comics myself, although based on what I've heard, it sounds like many of its elements would have been better, but that's just me. However, on the subject of drawing on the comics, I think the show would have benefited from going into the Titans'...
And not because they think the source material would make for better storytelling than what the adaptation produced? No one on this thread has asked for a mediocre cartoon, and I strongly doubt that most of the posters are thirty-plus "nostalgia freaks".
Unless these same posters really do...
Five things, eh? Let me see...
1. More internal consistency. If something happens, there should be a harder reason for it than author's fiat. This goes for both deus ex machina endings and motiveless villains.
2. A more realistic world. The first season had this right -- regular nods to...
I'm not sure what just happened, and I'm not sure whether I liked it or not.
I do know Magneto, his plan, and his gadgets could have used more development. I mean, Asteroid M? Where did that come from? How does it stay in the air like that? Is it just me, or was he far too unprepared for a...
Wow. I had not seen that one before. I'm sure I'd remember it.
While we're on the topic of openings outside of the big three, what about the Japanese versions of the '90s show? (First mentioned here, links no longer work, but I'm sure they're on Youtube.) They look more like the intro to a...
An hour or so ago, I watched a little something called "SpykeCam". It was followed by "Survival of the Fittest", which I thought was a drastic improvement.
Then I saw this. Am I still watching the same show? Whatever happened, I like it.
On the whole, this was good. Among other things, now I can watch the intro and not pretend to myself that I'm really in suspense about where Rogue is going to end up.
Just one question: What was the deal with that snowmobile race? Rogue challenges Scott, who she feels conflicted about but...
The very beginning of this episode, with Kitty's powers activating in the middle of the night and Cerebro picking up on it, was fantastic. After that, it steadily went downhill (although I did like the interlude with Sabertooth) until I was wondering why Kitty's parents had shown up at the...
The same thing I said in my first post -- that it sounded like that episode was meant to be the definitive end of Thorne, until the writers decided they wanted him back again. I felt it merited mention.
Alright, that makes sense. All the same, though, I swear I remember a scene where Batman is bummed, and Alfred says something about how finally seeing Rupert Thorne arrested ought to have lifted his spirits. It sounded pretty definitive at the time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I think that "Shadow of the Bat" was supposed to be it for Rupert Thorne, but then he came back, Jokeresque, with no explanation. Doesn't Alfred refer to it as "the final defeat of Rupert Thorne" or something like that?
