Why would NBC/Universal want to aquire Cookie Jar in the first place? Besides, Universal has its own animation unit. (They produce Curious George for PBS)
In case anyone hasn't noticed, there will be a total of 9 animated features that will be released this year (all CGI!). That's the most I've seen in any one year. I think animated features are alive and well for the time being.
This reminds of an episode of Billy and Mandy titles Hill Billy where the film is turned into a 1930's style cartoon, where Grim does his version of the Skeleton Dance and Mandy cries out, "I hate retro cartoons!"

It seems logical that Tink should speak in this film since she's carrying most of the load so you really can't hve her sonding like a wind chime through the whole picture. By the the way did you also happen to notice that this picture is in CGI?
