    This Month In Music (May)

Go buy Caesars "Paper Tigers" right now. It is one of the coolest albums I've ever heard. If you've ever heard that iPod commercial with the song "Jerk It Out", that's them.

So... what the heck happened to Gwen Stefani?

I feel obligated to chime in since I called Gwen's album the worst album of 2004. I liked No Doubt and I'll even still pop in "Return of Saturn" once in a while. When "Rock Steady" came about I could sense a decline. With the inevitable "Love Angel Music Baby" coming out, she's hit rock...

    Movies You're Looking Forward To?

There's only one I'm really looking forward to- Kung Fu Hustle. Stephen Chow is one of the very few actors I will see anything he stars in, no matter what it is. Although Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is one I'll likely see since it's my favorite of the Harry Potter books.

    This Month in Music (April)

My birthday was about a week ago and I got a whole boatload of CDs, all of 'em good. Alana Davis "Surrender Dorothy" (an early contender for album of the year IMO), The Incredibles soundtrack, The Get Up Kids "Guilt Show" and a hard-to-find one Supergrass "In It For the Money" (one of my top 10...

    Your Favorite Cover Songs

A lot of cover songs are worse than the original (Save Ferris "Come On Eileen"), a few are just as good (No Doubt "It's My Life"), but the only one I can think of that's vastly superior is Seal's cover of Steve Miller's song "Fly Like An Eagle". He puts a lot more energy into it than Steve did.

    Hype!

The Matrix, by far. There were so many problems with the story, acting and dialogue. And people fiercely defend this movie too. I don't understand why. After this movie came out, I no longer listened to any hype from any source. As for critical hype- Rushmore. No likable characters, no...

Songs That Are Guilty Pleasures For You

Since I don't really care what people think about what I like, there really isn't much that I would consider a "guilty pleasure". However, a few recent songs I was very surprised that I actually liked. I have not liked anything Jack Johnson has done, but for some reason I like his new song...

What kind of rock music do you like?

I find it ridiculous to categorize rock because I listen to so many different types- The Beatles, Audioslave, The Mars Volta, Supergrass, Death Cab For Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, just to name a few.

Your Top Ten Worst Movies Of ALL Time?

My God, how could I forget that awful movie? That one would knock out Mean Streets and probably place around 4 or 5 on my list. Everything about it screamed cliche. And the animation and character design was terrible- it was very unnatural as if the characters were being controlled by...

    This Month In Music (March)

Nice to see so many fans of The Mars Volta here. "Frances the Mute" is great but I think I prefer "De-Loused In the Comatorium". I also picked up The Mooney Suzuki "Alive and Amplified". It's pretty good, and reminded me a lot of Jet. And I finally picked up Sleater-Kinney "One Beat" for a...

Your Top Ten Worst Movies Of ALL Time?

I could easily pick stuff that I knew wasn't anything great to begin with like Cabin Boy and Disturbing Behavior. My top 10 is movies that should have been good but sucked big time- 1. Reign of Fire (The most disappointed I've ever been with a movie) 2. Lost Highway (Um, what the hell did I...

What Song You're Constantly Listening to Right Now?

Ah! That would be "Funeral Song". I'm a fan of The Rasmus also.

    The Official Avatar Thread XI

Cool! I literally JUST found out about that series. Picked it up at the library and loved it.

What Song You're Constantly Listening to Right Now?

I've been really getting into the A Perfect Circle song "Passive" off their album eMOTIVe. I was never that into them, but that song is one I can't get out of my head. Also- Mooney Suzuki "Alive and Amplified" Arcade Fire "Neighborhood #3"

    Is Cable TV a necessity?

I'm not a TV junkie, but almost every show I watch is on a cable station- The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Teen Titans, Fairly Odd Parents, etc. The only exception is Scrubs. Most network TV is been there/done that stuff like reality TV, medical dramas and family sitcoms. If the narrow strip...
