I probably wouldn't. I might have had a plan in 2000 or 2010, but not now. With cable dying a slow death and kids channels on the chopping block, trying to start a new channel now would feel like jumping aboard a sinking ship.
First you'd have to set yourself apart from CN, Nick and Disney, plus you'd need access to a big library of programming. With everything now under the umbrella of Big Corporations, that'd be a pretty tall order
Doing so would be a colossal waste of money, time and effort since these days, kids by-and-large are no longer watching cable TV. Even the Big 3 kids cable channels (Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network) are feeling the effects. Right now, a kids' entertainment website or a streaming service app would be a better bet than launching a new TV channel.
An online feed most definitely must be a thing, I agree. I do think FAST has a lot of scope for the future but I'm not convinced it's got enough eyeballs on it currently to turn a profit for a totally new venture. I am of course, talking about the UK/Europe here. Launching a cable channel isn't something that I think would work but I definitely think there's big space in the FTA/FTV market.
That would be a good idea to launch a new kids channel if it was 15 years ago. Now, that would be a waste of time and money. Everyone is going to streaming now. So, that's completely off the table.
