With the kind of attention FCBD brings to local comic book shops, bringing in more patrons and potentially more frequent customers, wouldn't it be a good idea to have this event twice a year or more frequently than once a year?
Kevin Conroy and Christian Bale are two actors I hold in high regard and have lots of respect for. I particularly enjoyed Bale's vocal performance, it was intended to be extreme and over the top if you ask me. Just in the same manner as the Tumbler was designed, and the overall structure of both...
theRedDeath, the only advice I could give you would be to handle rejection well... and don't quit your day job. You'll find all the odds will be against you, but if you work hard and stay persistent you'll find what you're looking for.
"Working hard" usually means starting at the bottem, doing...
I beat the game on every difficulty level, except for the last one. And I think that's what's needed to unlock the last bonus feature. The highest difficulty level got terribly frustrating, so I put it down and haven't played it since. I should give it another shot before Batman Arkham Asylum...
I've been pretty infrequent with my Bat titles lately, only buying "Battle for the Cowl" 1-3 yesterday. I started falling off during Batman RIP, so you can imagine my dismay when I figured out Dick has taken on the mantle of the bat, and Damian as the Boy Wonder. I plan on jumping into "Battle...
Amidst a global economic meltdown, have you been buying less comics and TPB's? Have your comic funds been unaffected? Or are you actually buying more comics/trades? I was chatting with my LCS owner, and he said the last recession he was in, the dot com lull, he actually saw profits increase.
For me, it's a matter of accessibility, since I travel quite a bit for work. I no longer have time to visit my shop regularly, and it just seems easier to wait for trades to come out. It seems more people around me are doing the same. Do you find yourself leaning more towards trades as you...
I like TB&TB for the lighter tone and homage to the pre-Adam West Batman. It's a fun show that brings elements of The Teen Titans into Batman's world.
But this Batman isn't for everybody... certainly not for most dedicated Bruce Timm fans. Especially the Bruce Timm fans that bashed The Batman...
When BTAS first aired, people in high school and college watched it. Fast forward to today, many of those same fans now have kids of their own. Now you've got a show that parents and kids can watch together.
It's not that the shows are getting younger...consider that you're also getting older. :)
I agree, I do like other visions of Batman stretching the creative boundaries, and I think Nolan's continuity does just that.
Telling that to a fan base that worships Bruce Timm's DCAU is like pulling teeth. Remember the amount of pushback The Batman got when it aired it's first season? I...
Wow, I can't believe most of you wouldn't support a show like this. Did you guys not like Batman: Gotham Knight? I'm not asking for WB to create this show, I'm asking if you guys would watch and support it.
Although I'm not a huge fan of the 60's Adam West and Burt Ward television series, I'd like to have a collected edition of all the episodes. I wasn't born yet when this series aired and only caught some re-runs in my early childhood. I'd like to see more episodes that I missed.
They have always seemed like one streamlined show to me. Only difference was that they had more feedback in the later episodes. Asking which one I like better is like choosing one of your favorite kids. You can't really pick.
I have all the respect in the world for Kevin Conroy. He embraces Bruce/Batman's voice and makes it his own. He's also a very friendly guy. I got to meet him at Comic Con several years ago and was very appreciative of the praise. Viva la Conroy!
Slade is a strategist, almost on par with Batman where he's six steps ahead of you. In the comics, Slade has taken down several JLA members single handedly (I forget which issue that was in). It's not surprising that he can do the same with the Teen Titans.
Would you support an animated series that was in the continuity of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight? Somewhat similar to the Gotham Knight animation shorts, but a regular season where the art, continuity and characters were all consistent with Christopher Nolan's Bat universe.
I'd be first in line to see Batman given the anime treatment... not necessarily for the sake of being in anime style, but for the artistic and story creativity some of these animators can do. I'm all for it.
I've got everything set for SDCC. Only thing I'm missing is a place to stay. My original plan is to just go to a hotel and book something on the spot, but I figured I'd reach out to my fellow boardies and see if anyone has an open spot in their hotel room. Just a place to sleep (floor is fine...
Wow, a virgin convention go-er.
Depending on the size of the convention, you'll find a little of everything. The key thing is to make sure you look and shop around first. You may find a better deal from a vendor just a few rows over. In addition, don't alway buy things at face value. Some...
Wayne Industries built a lot of infrastructure and building developments in Gotham. Does Stark also have similar ties with his city? Or is it all government and military weapons development?
Are you serious? I can't even accept this is a serious answer. Are you only looking at their arsenal? Did you forget that Bruce Wayne is a philanthropist and that Wayne Tech completely funded the Batcave's technology and the JLA watchtower?
I'm talking about the bigger picture here. Who's...
A friend of mine brought this up after recently watching Iron Man. Although both sources of wealth come from different arenas, pound-for-pound, who has more money? Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark?
