Looks great to me... animation seems to have a lot more ''bounce'' to it as well. Hopefully this season doesn't get lost in the noise of all the other superhero content coming out this summer.
Could Timm/Tucker be ''ringing the bell'' this season?
Another tiny update based on the MAWS season 3 press release from WB:
This is our first announcement since the Aztec Batman press release. WB has now removed Jellystone!, Tiny Toons Looniversity and, of course... Harley Quinn. I'm sure many will still hold out hope, but I think HBO Max has...
According to Serum Lake over on YouTube, the show had a season two wrap party at The Rhythm Room LA. No idea where he got that information but, there we are.
I imagine Amazon would want to avoid a Summer release this time if X-MEN 97 and Spider-Man is due to drop their sophomore seasons around...
Batman: The Animated Series (The Adventures of Batman & Robin) ended its run on FOX Kids on this day 30 years ago.
Time is just hurtling forward. Incidentally, this is one of my favorite episodes. I love the atmosphere and backgrounds of London and it was nice to see Alfred get some...
I echo everyone else about how messy this seems. I'm conflicted as I don't feel Cipes' story is completely adding up just yet.
- A company like WB (with a litany of lawyers) would not simply fire somebody on the basis of a medical diagnosis.
- Cipe's dates seem out of sync with his complaints...
Da
I knew fans would miss the DTV's when WB took a step back. People complained about them a lot in later years, but they were always something to look forward to.
I wonder why Vol. 2 and 3 seem to be skipping over Shirley Walker's episodes? Ran into some legal problems with her estate?
It would be a shame to skip out on her contributions (especially 'Out of the Past') as it was the last work she ever did with the franchise.
It's just an observation, but I thought I would put it here anyway. The recent press release for Aztec Batman has an updated list of current series for WBA:
Now the list seems to include both newly announced series and those that are in production/have episodes left to air. I assume this...
Apparently someone online called ''Kit Hamm'' claims that this series has now been cancelled, with no updates after the announcement. Take it was a massive grain of salt as always, but some Scooby fans also claim he has been right about certain things in the past:
What I do find interesting...
Apparently, a trailer for this has been showing in front of key screenings of Superman in Mexico. I wonder if they'll do a limited theatrical release there?
Hopefully we get a trailer and release date at Comic Con.
I have been seeing numerous criticisms online regarding Will Friedle's comments and I have some thoughts, :
1.) You do not speak for the actors nor can you police their feelings. It is clear that some actors, such as Hamill and Friedle, feel their work as their respective characters is deeply...
The removal of Yin felt network mandated. Batgirl was a more youthful character that could bring the girl demographic in and fulfill the same role Yin had in season 2.
Plus, I imagine one less voice actor to pay probably made it an easier decision production wise.
Kevin and Mark are the definitive voices for me and always will be, but I wish people would stop trying to find ''replacements'' for them. They did what they did, they'll be apart of the Batman tapestry forever but we do not need to find successors.
What we need is interesting actors who want...
That's very true... they have a lot of animation to deal with and finding the ''space'' to premiere and get as many eyeballs as possible must be challenging.
Bring back the 65 episode pick ups, I say.
I choose to believe that no news is good news at this point. Matt Reeves said the team would be finding out last Sept/Oct. They'll probably announce a renewal after season two drops.
What is crazy to me is the wait times we have for the content these days. We are now four years out from the...
Season 5 is now available on digital as well as a 'Seasons 1-5' bundle.
I wonder why they are calling it a 'HBO Max original'? I must have missed something with branding on digital.
Extreme wishful thinking... IF season two is due for release this year (which could be a big IF), surely he has to be over there for season three?
(I know it could be for retakes... but I'll just keep the fantasy alive for a hot minute).
EDIT:
We also get a little cameo from this Batman in...
It was listed on all press releases for WB Home Entertainment products last year. Seems like it has pivoted to a DTV model, but I guess we'll have to see.
Hope they sell Batgirl off as well.
I know that one is not finished, but it's a movie featuring Michael Keaton as Batman. Surely somebody wants to pony up some kind of cash for it.
Is the show still popular enough to warrant a revival?
I drifted in and out of love with the show when I was young, but I'm not sure its crying out for a return. Probably best for Gunn and Co to focus on fresh stories for Superman moving forward.
Background design supervisor Bradley Gake has now completed work on season one of the show and is looking for work.
Says he ''can't wait for everyone to see the show''. It has ''a lot of heart and a lot of punching''.
I thought it was established that the company lets the rights to shorts/shows/movies elapse on their streaming service in order to increase appetite for their return down the road. A number of their projects left the service recently.
They'll be back before you know it. I wouldn't overact.
