Production company Shochiku announced the news on Friday, February 6th, 2026. P.A. Works (Angel Beats!, Shirobako, Skip and Loafer) will produce the animation.
The series, popularly known as The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life or Chi-Fuyo for short is a fantasy story with a slice of wish fulfillment. Rain Garland is an adventurer who supports his party with his unique item enhancement skills. One day, he suddenly finds himself expelled from the party he considered his closest friends. The reason for this harsh treatment? Rain has so thoroughly enhanced his party’s equipment that they see no further use for him!"
