Crunchyroll officials took to the podium during Anime Expo Lite last weekend to reveal the full slate of new anime that will be available on its service over the summer. Make a summer date for these…
- Battle Game in 5 Seconds – Imagine meeting someone and having to engage in combat with them within five seconds. Sounds like a good premise for a video game, but it’s an anime instead. Look for this one later this month.
- Peach Boy Riverside – She’s a princess, he’s a warrior famous for slaying ogres. Together, they’re…something. Which one is Peach Boy? This one also premieres this month.
- Girlfriend, Girlfriend – It’s about a teenager who attempts to date two girls at once. Decades of Archie comics have borne testimony to how bad an idea this is. It shows up later in the month.
- TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy- – It’s about another teenager, but he can’t date two girls at once because he’s been thrown into a strange fantasy world he’s unfamiliar with. Why is he there? Because he was “shunned by a goddess [for] not being enough of a hero.” That’ll teach him.
- Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles – An orphan kid shoots for a better future by attending a ritzy, snooty academy. No release date mentioned.
- Fena: Pirate Princess – Well, you know about this one. It’s fated to premiere on Toonami as well as Crunchyroll. The premiere date must be close, but we still don’t know the specific day.
- Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S – More episodes of the series will premiere in July.
- My Next Life As a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X – The life of the villainess continues. This season premiered two days ago.
- Drug Store in Another World – The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist – Here’s another guy who’s been transported to another dimension, but he’s found a way to make use of his skills as a pharmacist and drug expert (no, not in that way). Premieres later this month.
Crunchyroll also announced the following series for the near future: Restaurant to Another World 2, SAKUGAN, The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, In the Land of Leadale, and Orient. Most of them are dated for fall premieres in the US, except for Leadale which premieres in January 2022.
