The Toonami Thread

It's sad that we can't have a memorial thread in its own forum, and that one of the most unique things about Toon Zone is gone, and all memories documented on it.

It would be appreciated if it was a read-only at least. But Jeff Harris admitted so himself on the X Bridge that the forum may not be reopened anytime soon because everyone will consider it the "Toonami forum" instead of the "X Bridge forum".

There IS Toonami Fan if you want to do your Toonami memorial postings.

Yeah, I just think it's depressing that all those years of discussion among this forum can never be read again.

Maybe mods can, but not the rest of us. If you go to what used to be the Toonami board or any post on it, it just says you can't read it. It's nice to see the old banner, background, and color scheme, though.

Nobody wants to see a TXB forum. So, there isn't one. The archives will return though since that's all you all care about anyway.

I'd enjoy a TXB forum, especially as your site holds a lot of potential as a creative hub full of original material and it would be nice to discuss it. Don't patronize me because I liked Toonami, the Toonami forum, and would've liked the archives to stay open.

I admit I get annoyed sometimes when you don't live up to an update schedule or whatever but that's because I enjoy your site and visit it daily in the hopes of seeing some kind of update or new section. I want to see how your site evolves into something revolving around new creative endeavours.

Toonami's spirit seems to live on in your work from what you've revealed about it and so does my work. In a way, the block inspired me to try to write a novel (finally, after so many false starts, I finally have a keeper that's close to completion). I like to think that by attempting to break into creative arts is my way of ensuring that the spirit of the block lives on, even if most people don't realize it, and will only see references towards Gundam if that (I codenamed a dropship E-57 and a slow-moving type of mech is called "mobile armor").

But it's there, and you will know it the moment you read it.

I'm not trying to patronize anyone. I just know a lot of people care more about Toonami than The X Bridge. I've accepted that.

I just don't and can't justify having a forum for a block that no longer exist.

You know, between bouts of depression (losing a pair of family members in a matter of months, including one I've taken care of for six years, will do that to you), frustration of trying to find an occupation because I don't get paid to work on The X Bridge, and a need to try to enjoy this life, I do try to find time to work on the site. It's a priority, but it's not the reason I live. I hope you and others can understand that. I'm still working, but I'm no longer putting any schedules when stuff happens. It happens when it happens.

I want to see how your site evolves into something revolving around new creative endeavours.

Ah, I miss Fox Kids too. Oddly enough I accepted it wasn't coming back far quicker than it took for me to let go of Toonami.

Kids deserve good programming. I don't think the current generation is receiving that in either live-action or animated formats. In all honesty the wreckage reminds me of the 80's.

But hopefully that means in a few years the wave of great material from the 90's will be reborn.

There is good programming; it's just what's good to some people won't be to others. It's really subjective.

I was thinking the other day... Williams Streets and Cartoon Network should create an online streaming 24/7 Toonami channel. It would be different than Reactor in that it would have actual "programming" like a normal channel would. The fans are there and they still have some of the programming, so it makes sense to keep pulling in the ad revenue.

Yeah, there was a website called Toonami Jetstream but they took it offline around the beginning of the year, all it had was random episodes of former Toonami shows anyway but they did have a few 'premiers' every now and again. It didn't feel like Toonami that much though, it lacked the Toonami wraparound and Tom bumpers, but it had a majority of the programming and it was not all that bad.

God has it really been a year already? Time sure does fly...
Anyways, I love how Toonami was one of the very few programs in TV history that actually cared about what the viewers thought. I'm talking aboutt he "Is Toonami a Failed Experiment" ad from way back. And no it wasn;t. Toonami was indeed very successful and it opened so many doors for the animation industry. It's pretty amazing.
