"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

Speaking of, E7 is pretty long huh? I wonder if they'll be able to have something of similar length ready for when Casshern ends, and then just coast for a little while.

So here's the Lucky 7's promo:

Also, Bebop is leaving.

I. SO. TOTALLY. CALLED. IT.

Sorry, The Man in Black. Looks like you were 100% WRONG.

I just knew Cowboy Bebop was gonna take a break! I didn't expect a "new" show to be the cause, but whatever, I, the holder of the minority speculation, was correct! :D

Sigh...I'm going to miss Cowboy Bebop :(.

Yeah, I think Eureka 7 has 51 episodes, so it'll be around for a year. Which isn't a bad thing, necessarily. Wonder what they'll do when Casshern Sins ends though...

So...is FMA replacing Bebop and Eurka 7 is replacing FMA? Or is the promo just wrong and Eureka 7 is replacing Bebop?

When Casshern Sins ends and they don't have a new show, they can just bump everything back up and air Cowboy Bebop again. But I think they'll have a show prepared to replace it.

Here's how it's going to be:

12:00 AM - Bleach
12:30 AM - Samurai 7
1:00 AM - Casshern Sins
1:30 AM - Eureka Seven
2:00 AM - Ghost in the Shell or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:30 AM - Ghost in the Shell or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

I'm not sure if they want to move Ghost in the Shell or not.

If they can do a show as Eureka Seven, that means there is a chance for Fairy Tail.

And are we going to do episode talkbacks for Eureka Seven? I used to air on Adult Swim but that was a long time ago.

Since they're not premieres, I guess we'll take it to the Anything Else thread?

Eureka 7 will be taking the 1:30am slot. Don't know what slots Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will now have, though.

Yeah, that could very well happen. Hopefully they will get a new show to replace Casshern Sins, though.

So Toonami's replacing one violent show about a wimpy kid and his albino girlfriend with...ANOTHER violent show about a wimpy kid and his albino girlfriend.

Those who haven't seen E7...HOLY CRAP WATCH IT YOU WILL LOVE IT TO DEATH. It gets kinda sad about midway through but it's OH SO TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Yeah except this whimpy is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch. Enough said.

I hope Adult Swim will stream Eureka Seven on their website again.

So Eureka is replacing Bebop meaning FMAB is at 2 with GiTs at 2.5

Toonami surprises us one again! Didn't care for Eureka when it aired but maybe I'll catch it this time.

ALso, here's what I see hapening in the near fututre schedule wise. Since Casshern ends on Nov 3rd (bearing that no preemptions or changes take place between now and then) I could see Samurai 7 moving to the 1:00am slot and a new show taking the 12:30 slot (Tiger & Bunny? Inuyasha TFA? Fairy Tale? One Piece? The possibilities are endless). Guess we'll have to wait and see though!

I own the entirety of Eureka Seven on DVD, and I'm still excited to see it on Toonami. I never thought they would ever give that show a second look, but I'm so happy to be wrong.

Maybe...this might raise the chances of Eureka Seven AO getting an airing on Toonami in the future?

Possibly. Who knows? This run of Eureka Seven could also be a test to see if it's popular enough to get AO on the block.

One can only hope, but then again the same discussion was made about InuYasha: The Final Act.

Well, Eureka Seven is probably the zombie of Bandai Entertainment's doing. Doesn't really mean anything for AO.

As for what'll replace Casshern Sins, if they still have broadcast rights to Durarara they should use them.

Eureka Seven? That's a pretty nice surprise. I wanted to watch that at some point anyways so here goes!

Perhaps they have plans to get AO, so they're airing this first so everyone can be caught up? I mean, AO is still airing in Japan so it wouldn't be ready before sometime next year at the earliest anyways.

I'm glad Brotherhood and GitS stays since they're both top 10 anime for me.

Wasn't Eureka 7 a huge bomb for AS? Seems like it'd be one of the least requested of the older shows. Unless Toonami really can sell anything, this will probably bomb again. And we'll probably be stuck with said bomb for a year...

Yeah, I can see the ratings not being much higher than they were back in '06 and '07. I kind of wish they would have brought back Samurai Champloo. That way it could have been "Double Samurai". :p

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
