Casshern is airing episode 19 this Saturday, and there's twenty-four episodes, so yeah. It's got six episodes left including this week's.

Though the ACMI delay was a week ago. But still.

That does sound like an interesting development. I'm not sure if it could mean that they're planning to air it on Toonami, especially when the series would still be airing on TV unlike with the DVD release for Deadman Wonderland, but it's possible due to how Casshern Sins ends in another few weeks. The brief information I've ready about the series' plot sounds kind of interesting, so I'd give it a chance if it ended up on the block.

Personally I;d still take that with a grain of salt. December's still too close to when it would supposedly be starting on Toonami and so the potential ratings disaster could still happen. Still betting on it being something that doesn't have a release date yet.

Ratings disaster? Talk about jumping the gun. Also people are likely to check out something if its airing on tv before buying it.

True, for at least the first several weeks an anime hitting DVD in December would work fine for Toonami and one people start watching it there they'd likely keep watching it there. Though if they like it a lot they might switch to watching it on home video because the release will be ahead of Toonami and that might not work out so well for Toonami but on the other hand having the pre-release TV exposure would undoubtedly help FUNimation sell more and that's what FUNimation would want right?

But be a bit more realistic here. Samurai 7, Casshern Sins and Eureka 7 are not pulling in lower numbers simply because they were already aired and on DVD. They are pulling in those lower numbers because they've been around for a very long time. Casshern only since 2010 but S7 and E7 are over 5 years old now and both available dubbed for free on Hulu. Casshern's dub isn't as easy to come by but it's also available to watch in full and has been for over a year.

If they got a new show on Toonami that just hit DVD it would surely do fine. FMAB part 2 and Durarara were both behind the DVD releases and they didn't bomb. However they should leverage their anticipation for slightly lower ratings from a show already on DVD or expect to hit DVD within a month or so. They could probably work out a deal with FUNimation to pimp their new show just before it hits DVD in return for a reasonable price to air it. They could do that with a show that's less popular than say InuYasha, Naruto, One Piece or DBZ. There's not a huge amount of risk involved for Adult Swim or the distributor. When it's a popular series that's heavily viewed on Hulu, Netflix and what have you then it loses a lot of it's potential value to Adult Swim's ratings because people will watch it somewhere else instead of Toonami. If it's a lesser known (but can still be popular) series then it shouldn't do poorly, it just might do a bit less than it could if they were always beating the home video release.

The on-air schedule updated. It stops on Novemeber 3rd, when Casshern Sins ends. I was hoping it would tell us what show would be replacing it, but I guess we'll find out on the last week of October or so. No sign of what's airing during the extra hour either. Good news is that The Cleveland Show premieres may give Toonami a boost in ratings.

Eh... Cleveland has a good lead with Family Guy but I don't think it will really help Toonami, especially if Black Dynamite keeps losing ratings at 11PM. I am curious as to how well Cleveland will do as a Saturday premiere.

That would match up pretty well for when it would end if were to replace Sins in November so it's looking like that's another replacement possibility for Sinst besides Index.

Interestingly enough someone who went to Anime Weekend Atlanta this weekend asked about Future Diary and apparently it's set for a late spring/early summer release date and it's halfway through recording. That would match up pretty well for when it would end if were to replace Sins in November so it's looking like that's another replacement possibility for Sinst besides Index.

From what i know about Future Diary i think it would be a good addition to toonami!

Since Eureka 7's been stinking up the ratings, plus their license may be limited by Bandai's official spring demise, they might want to double that show up. Whether or not they have a new show ready for 1:30 or if they bring something else back (probably Deadman or Durarara) for another run.

A new show joining up the lineup does sound possible, especially when they could have put another show after Brotherhood instead of another episode. It's probably more likely to be a show that's already aired on Adult Swim like Durarara than a new show. I don't know what the chances of Brotherhood getting a third run, but they might want to give the series a full Toonami run depending on how well it does in ratings and if they have something else they can air instead.

According to Jason DeMarco, Eureka Seven will continue airing regardless of Bandai Entertainment going out of business. From what I hear, Adult Swim continued airing Samurai Champloo for a while after Geneon went out of business too.

It's still a long show with weak ratings, so doubling up in the late/early hours makes sense.
