Since Casshern has a few episodes left to air, they could replace it with Generator Rex and air the remaining unaired episodes. CN doesn't care for the show anymore and I doubt they'll ever air those episodes.

They would probably have to start airing from the beginning, so it would take a long time for them to get to the last few episodes of the series. Though, I don't think that Generator Rex could fit on the lineup. I think it would be too light-hearted to work on the block and the action doesn't stand out as much as the action does in either Sym-Bionic Titan or Thundercats.

Eh...I don't think a light-hearted show would be a bad thing for the block. It's not like the super serious shows like Casshern Sins do all that well anyway, might as well put it on in the late night/early morning hours for variety.

If Adult Swim did pick up a show from Aniplex USA, I wonder where they would air it, since FUNimation shows are already planned for Toonami.

They have six hours, most of it reruns. Besides, they don't have to broadcast the shows at the same time, they can wait on them and put 'em on when a show already on the block finishes.

If they do get an Aniplex show, I want Madoka Magica. It probably wouldn't all that well in ratings, but it's a darn good show and would be a very diverse addition for the block.

That's true and some variety wouldn't hurt, but I don't think Generator Rex would be a good example of a light-hearted show for Toonami. I don't think it's a good series and it doesn't have much adult appeal like Sym-Bionic Titan or the new Thundercats series does.

Remember that the first rule of getting a show on Adult Swim, said by DeMarco himself, is that the show better be good. Obviously DeMarco and the AS team think that Sym-Bionic Titan and Thundercats 2011 are both good. Whether they think Generator Rex is "good" is another story. If Rex was on the table with Titan and Thundercats and got passed over (a fairly major if), obviously we have our answer already. In all likelihood, though, if Rex does wind up on Toonami we'll likely find out sometime in 2013.

For now, let's just be glad two good cartoons get to run again, though the fact that they're on Adult Swim now means that Cartoon Network is definitely, likely irrevocably, through with them. It would be nice if both did well enough for AS to commission more seasons, though, or at least a conclusion for both, but at those timeslots I'm not thinking so.

As for Fate/ZERO on Toonami, and how that affects Aniplex's plans, Aniplex changed their plans for Blue Exorcist once they got Blue Exorcist cleared for Neon Alley. If Adult Swim went "Hey, we want that show" for F/Z or some other Aniplex production, Aniplex will change their plans again. They're not stupid, there's more money to be made even when considering dubbing costs if they get the show on a major outlet, and Aniplex one way or another got Durarara!! on Adult Swim already.

Madoka is ready to go immediately, but I think the show was rejected by Adult Swim IIRC, though. I think that was brought up a while back.

That's a shame if that is really true about Madoka. Madoka would be great to serve the block the same way Sailor Moon did. If they have a current bias rule against Shouju anime, that would be lame considering what I said about Sailor Moon. Though perhaps Adult Swim feels too mature to air that type of programming.

I'm just going to say this: I would love to see an epic Toonami promo for Madoka. While I don't know if they should air something like that before getting several episodes in (potentially ruining some things) It might also be a good way to help get people to watch through the earlier episodes. I still don't know if Madoka completely belongs on the block or not, but I would welcome it there.

Judging from reviews I've read, people seemed to really enjoy the first half of Thundercats. The second half is a different story...

I can't compare the new Thundercats series to the old one since I barely remember watching the original series when I was little. Even so, I wouldn't say that the new series was good either. It wasn't terrible, but it felt mediocre, which was pretty disappointing when it had so much potential and the premiere was great. There were a few good episodes passed the premiere, like the one exploring Tygra's past, but it felt more like a mediocre action series with a bunch wasted potential to me more than anything else.

Never watched the original series, but I thought the new one was "meh." Maybe original series viewers loved it? I dunno. I just feel bad that anyone who liked this show had it cancelled.

But it's not horribly awful either...

I liked Thundercats 2011. I've seen a bit of the 80's series, and thought it was campy fun, but not very good in terms of storytellling. Thundercats 2011 was a fairly fun ride, and while it had quite a bit of problems, I actually thought it was a decent action series and would have loved to see more. The biggest problem in the series for me were the romantic relationships. I don't think many action shows do them well these days, and bad ones really get on my nerves and annoy me. Whenever those popped up in Thundercats 2011 I kind of cringed because it played out very stereotypically. But that said, I enjoyed almost all of the episodes for their stories, felt the characters were developed pretty well, and thought the action was pretty decent. I can understand why some people would find it mediocre, maybe boring, but I can't fathom a reason why the series is "bad."

I don't know how well praised the show overall, but I don't know if it's praised here that much. It isn't terrible by any means, but I don't think I'd consider it one of the best action shows in the past year. It had a lot of potential to be great, but it just felt overall mediocre by the end. The animation and most of the fight scenes were handled pretty well and the voice acting was great though.
