Here's the schedule for December 28th, according to Zap2it.com, TVGuide.com, and Adult Swim's website:

12:00 AM - Trigun: Badlands Rumble
3:00 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 5
3:30 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 12
4:00 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 13
4:30 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 17
5:00 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 25
5:30 AM - Cowboy Bebop - Episode 26

Trigun: Badlands Rumble is only 1 hour and 30 minutes long, so we may be seeing some surprises after the movie. It's also possible that they re-licensed Cowboy Bebop and are using it to hype up Space Dandy's premiere the following week.

Remember when everyone was crying about Bebop on the Tumblr earlier in the year, and DeMarco threatened a whole night of Bebop? We might be seeing that here.

I think this might actually be the schedule for that week, and not just another placeholder schedule. I say this because the episodes listed are all the important episodes of Bebop dealing with Spike's story, along with the favorite episode, Mushroom Samba. Personally, I really don't wanna see Bebop, and I would have much preferred them to get some Trigun episodes on there, but if they're gonna air Bebop, at least they decided to air these episodes.

Also, fun fact: December 28th will be the first night since Toonami returned on Adult Swim that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will not play, if they're indeed showing all that Bebop. With that, no show will have aired every single night of Toonami.

I don't think they got Bebop back for good yet, hence DeMarco saying they're not using the HD masters, which they said they wanted to get. My guess is they got them back for a limited one night thing, or the rights hadn't quite expired yet and they simply didn't have enough weeks to give it another run before those rights did expire.

My thoughts:

2013 was a great year for Toonami. We got a decent number of shows and new TOM / Absolution animation this year. Plus SARA and Clydes.
I'm always impressed with how far Toonami has come since its 2012 revival. It's getting better ratings than Adult Swim Action ever did.
We've gotten more game reviews, TOM speeches, and music videos in the last year than we did in the last 4 years that Toonami was on CN.
2014 is shaping up to hit the ground running.

I just feel sorry for all the kids who have to watch CN without Toonami or any good action block for that matter. They don't know what they're missing.

2012 was taking Toonami out of the storage garage, 2013 was the key in the ignition and starting it up, 2014 can only go places!


2013 was a great year, though! I don't have a top 10 list, but I'd probably have to say my #1 was the fact we still have Toonami.

Compared to what we got in the last 5 or so years of ASA (pre-revival), this year was an absolute embarrassment of riches. And next year looks to be even moreso. About the ratings thing being #1 on that list (and the later comment about One Piece not going anywhere) - yeah I think they're getting sick of seeing those same questions.

I'm not sure I would place the premiere of SAO on the list. Frankly, I don't think the show is very good.

It did start a relationship with Aniplex, though, so I can see why that would be relevant. It's nice to have another venue for premieres besides just FUNi all the time.

And if we ever get a Sentai show to open up a relationship with them (my money's on Big O Season 1), it would likely rank among next year's top ten. At least, it would in my book. I just want to see a venue able to showcase Girls und Panzer to a wide audience.

By the way, the Aniplex relationship was technically established before SAO; Durarara was airing on [as] right before the Toonami relaunch.

I think a relationship was already there from when Aniplex (of America) got Durarara!! aired on Adult Swim, so I wouldn't even say that much about SAO. Why they feel it's #9 I'd be curious to know.

I agree. I could see why it would be a important for their relationship with Aniplex and getting to air some of the episodes before the DVDs were released would be a big deal for the block too, but the show isn't good at all in my opinion. At least it's low on the list.

This year was really good for Toonami. They were able to get quite a few new shows, do more game reviews, bring SARA back and even attract some sponsors. It really shows how successful the block was this year when they're starting off 2014 with the world premiere of Space Dandy and getting an extra half hour. Hopefully, 2014 will lead to even more good things for Toonami.

If they do they don't mention it there. Pretty much the entire thing is "We have a good relationship with Aniplex now, oh, and SAO is doing great." It's obvious they more meant about the relationship.

Possible, but I think that they would have mentioned it or put it up a bit higher if they actually liked the show. It comes down to having a good relationship with Aniplex because of this show and it does pretty well in ratings more than anything else.
