Well I still hope they air Good Luck Girl! one day, it is only 12 episodes.

I dunno, how much action does it have? That'll be a big factor to whether they'll consider it.

Well that's a surprise. I haven't seen any of Black Lagoon before, but the positive reactions to this bit of news does make me curious to check it out. I'm not usually into shows with intense violence, but I was able to withstand Deadman Wonderland, so it might work out. I'll see the first few episodes and see where it goes from there. I wasn't expecting them to replace Soul Eater with Attack on Titan. I'm pretty sure that they'll at least try to get it, but I think it would be more likely for them to replace Space Dandy with that show, if only for the chance to air the complete openings and so that they start off the block with another popular series. I am curious about what will replace Sword Art Online. Either Blue Exorcist will premiere earlier than they expected or there's another new show announcement on the way.

Black Lagoon is one of FUNimation's best dubbed action anime TV series that hasn't been on mainstream TV before, so it's a good and unexpected pickup for Toonami. The censoring is going to be hilarious, though. I wonder if they'll get to show Roberta's Blood Trail. That would be nice.

I had a feeling Black Lagoon would end up on the new Toonami.

Its a great series, glad they picked it up even though I already own it on DVD.

Black Lagoon? Awesome! Wanted to check that out for a while, what I heard about it is quite positive and I was made to believe that we wouldn't get a show replacing both SE and SAO since they kept saying Blue Exorcist came in March. There's really no doubt Blue Exorcist replaces SAO then, which made so much more sense to begin with. It's the last week of February BE would begin then, which isn't much off. I doubt they'd show something else in SAO's slot for one week only, and the BL airdate confirms that SE will take no breaks.

Also, I like how they're using the three FUNimation slots, be it intentional or not. The early one being for all new shows, currently Space Dandy, and it's a good guess something like Attack on Titan will replace it. Then the second for the big One Piece that is old but still going, and then their third slot for a bit older stuff that never got it's fair chance on TV like Soul Eater and Black Lagoon.

This should include both seasons of Black Lagoon, right?

Don't see why not. What I'd be curious about (and this is an incredibly minor thing) is if they'll add "The Second Barrage" to the bumpers when we reach season 2, like they did when they had "2nd GIG" in the bumpers when season 2 of GITS was briefly airing and then took it off when they went to season 1.

I doubt it matters if they call 13-24 Second Barrage or not. They're going to cut out the part of the credits that makes that distinction and the show just keeps using the same numbering anyway.

There's no gore to the extent of DMWL. Just a lot of gunplay and a diverse cross section of villains. They do kick it up a notch in Roberta's Blood Trail, though, but even THEN it's only one or two scenes.

The language, on the other hand...

That's good to know. I can handle a lot of gunplay, to a certain extent at least, and the same with language. Gory violence is a bit more difficult to sit through for me, which is why I'm still kind of surprised that I actually did watch all of Deadman Wonderland. Some of the general descriptions of the plot made it sound kind of fun and that combined with all of the praises it's getting here does make me want to check it out, so I'll give it a shot.

Saw Black Lagoon back in my college anime club. So over the top and violent, I enjoyed it despite my aversions to cursing and violence.

Fun fact - the English dub was done by the Ocean Group, so expect to recognize plenty of voices from Inuyasha, Gundam, and My Little Pony FIM. Let's just hope this one will be "Disco Gun" free.

Oh the amount of beeping Toonami's going to do will be hilarious.

Some of the general descriptions of the plot made it sound kind of fun and that combined with all of the praises it's getting here does make me want to check it out, so I'll give it a shot.

Just a word of warning, BL does go to some very genuinely dark and disturbing places in it's second season and The OVA (which is not unexpected giving it's subject matter of the series) which is one of the reasons I never thought it air on Toonami. Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they do end up skipping the very first arc of the Second Barrage (Though I hope not). So best prepare yourself for it.

Okay, Dalek; not going there, but damn if I didn't jump up and start jumping for joy.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite acquisition of the Adult Swim era outside of Dandy, Deadman and One Piece.

Along with Sketch and few others actually on the forum, I openly admit to enjoying SAO on a guilty pleasure level, heck I'd even be bold as to say I enjoy Fairy Dance more than Aincrad. Mainly because the plot is more stable and involving, regardless of the the Kirito/Sugu relationship; I actually love Sugo as a villain, you just can't help but hate his guts. And also, Kirito. Yes, he's an overpowered Gary Stu but I can't help but root for him, especially in FD.

Okay, sorry. That's been a long time coming tangant, moving on.

I saw Black Lagoon when FUNi recently rereleased it, and yikes was that a revelation. I hadn't been so enthralled and hooked by something in a long time. I marathoned it in 2 days. It was a perfect storm of Tarantino and John Woo style action and dialogue anime only wishes it could capture every so often.

For those who haven't seen it, hold on to your butts, Revy's coming for ya.

As for the censoring, s**t has been shown to be a go on Adult Swim and Toonami ala Akira. As for the F bombs? Well, those will have to be bleeped. And god know bleeps make things hilarious.
