Looks like Rotten Tomatoes has gotten rid of the "Average Score" feature. Not a good change IMO. Certainly seems like a change that's more advantageous to studios than users
If you've got any thoughts about a Live Action Film or TV show you just watched that doesn't quite fit into any of the other threads, feel free to share them here; What Did You Watch Today? It would be good to get some more substantial Film/TV Talk going around here.
Got some TMNT 87 on in the background. I now realise that A Real Snow Job is almost certainly the episode I was watching on UK Nickelodeon in 1997 when they put text at the bottom telling us to turn to BBC for an important news story. The story was the death of Princess Diana.
Random thought; if Marvin (Garfield-esque comic strip about babies) had been turned into a Saturday Morning cartoon in the late 80s, rather than being confined to a one-off special, would Rugrats have ever existed?
Not sure how I've only just heard of Too Close for Comfort; so it's a sitcom where Ted Knight plays a cartoonist? Based on a British sitcom I've somehow also never heard of?? With a Garfield themed episode guest staring Jim Davis?!?
Universal Orlando says Curious George, Fievel's Playland, and more will be closing forever in just a few months, but what will replace them?

Not much of a Theme Park guy and there was never much risk of me going to Florida any time soon, but sad to hear the last living legacy of An American Tail has its days numbered.
Watching the first season of Timon & Pumbaa on Disney+; it's kind of jarring that Timon alternates between Nathan Lane and Quinton Flynn seemingly at random. Can't remember if I noticed at the time. think I did but may be conflating that with Kevin Schon taking over in Season 2.
Perhaps not coincidentally the Lane episodes seem to have a bigger animation budget too.
I know this is nerdy pedantry but it bug me when writers refer to cartoons that aired in Prime Time or Syndication as "Saturday Morning Cartoons". I don't expect the average person to know/care, but when you're writing an article or a video essay? Come on, you should get that right.
Going to take a break from the site for at least a little while, just not enjoying reading or posting much at the moment for various reasons, and have mostly been coming out of habit. Best to all.
It's so weird to me how far they've gone with the "this if the film Andy saw in 1995" marketing for Lightyear a) It's something which falls apart quickly as soon as you think about it b) Is that really an angle that's going to get people excited? Especially the core audience of kids born 15-20 years after 1995?
Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
