I don't think they'd have Kill La Kill ready, so Magi running in the meantime would be a great way to fill Aniplex's timeslot (and isn't utter swill like the past two properties they have given the block).

Magi + Fate/Zero would be an Aniplex USA power hour I wouldn't mind seeing down the line at all. Used to think Fate was too violent, but not anymore with Akira and Titan a part of recent history.

Fate/Zero would also pave the way for an eventual dub premiere of ufotable's Fate/stay night, now that Neon Alley isn't a factor anymore.

I don't think that I've heard much about Magi, but I've heard a lot of good things about Fate/Zero, so I'd like to check that series out if it ends up on Toonami. I kind of like Blue Exorcist. It's decent enough for me to be at least engaged with what's going on most of the time, and it's an improvement over Sword Art Online in my opinion, although that doesn't say much when just about anything would be for me, but it's certainly nothing to write home about either. At best, it's okay, so something really good from Aniplex would be nice.

The problem with running Fate/Zero is even though its a prequel, its meant to be viewed AFTER Fate/Stay Night. Otherwise you spoil a lot of the latter.

As for Valvrave...word on the street is because the show bombed in Japan, Aniplex has decided not to dub it. We're spared.

Doesn't Fate/Zero originate from an H-game? You don't need to have played that, do you?

I don't know why you'd want it to be the next big thing in mainstream popularity. I guess it would be cool if it did, but unless you were already really into the series, I'm not sure why you'd be so fixated on Attack on Titan becoming more mainstream popular and dismissing how popular/successful it already has been. Being the most successful anime on Netflix and the fourth popular on Hulu is still nothing to brush over, especially when it's only subbed in those sites. Granted, that is still within the anime circles since most people who would watch it are already into anime to begin with most likely, but that's still pretty impressive all things considered. Like I mentioned before, the other anime titles that did become more mainstream popular had a dub air on TV, which Attack on Titan hasn't gotten yet. It's hard to say if the dub would definitely make it more mainstream popular. Considering how popular it is already, it is possible, but it's hard to say for sure given how more of a general audience would have to click with the show.

I'm not the one saying it, I'm just responding with skepticism to the enormous hype surrounding the show. A lot of people seem to think it's gonna take America by storm, and that seems to include the folks at Toonami - hence the early promotion and top-of-the-order timeslot. I'm just worried it won't perform to their expectations.

Fate/Zero, while based off an H game, has almost ZERO fan-service, thank goodness. But like someone else said its meant to be viewed after Fate/Stay Night. While Night is dubbed, Sentai has the rights to it, and they generally don't do TV deals.

Back on track, though, there's really nothing on either side preventing any Sentai titles from airing on Toonami. DeMarco has already debunked the rumors of any bad blood the two sides may have, and Sentai themselves have already gone on record saying that they themselves would love a Toonami deal (and in case you're about to call BS on me...), so theoretically, anything the Toonami crew deems to have enough action is fair game.

I think the biggest strike against a Sentai deal coming to fruition at the moment is the crowded schedule. With only 6 1/2 hours of airtime, there's only so much time they can dedicate to new shows. By May 10, FUNimation alone will have a whole four slots, and that's not even counting Brotherhood; Viz will continue with three slots, Aniplex will keep one, and Brotherhood, Beware the Batman, and the rest of what were initially non-Toonami deals will have five. No wonder people want another expansion.

I haven't heard too many people say that it's going to take America by storm. It's a huge hit in Japan, already has impressive sales from the manga and being that successful on Netflix is pretty significant too, but most people here seem to think that it's just going to get really strong ratings given the hype for it. Granted, maybe a lot of other people on other sites think that it could become mainstream popular and considering its level of success already, I don't think it would be impossible for that to happen, but I haven't heard too many people say that it will take America by storm.

I also wouldn't say that the people at Toonami think that it's going to be mainstream popular either. It's been highly requested for them to air for quite some time, it's really popular and they know that if they put it in the first slot, they could potentially attract a lot of people to stick around for the block. Airing at the first timeslot also should allow them to air the opening themes without reducing them. The first opening theme is insanely popular in itself and cutting the themes short would result in a lot of backlash, so putting it at the front of the block should prevent that from happening. Besides that, it makes more sense to put a new highly requested show at the start of their lineup instead of moving it down a few slots in favor of Space Dandy reruns. I think that the chances of Attack on Titan performing well are really good and giving it early promotion helps to attract more people, instead of waiting the week before starting to do so. In regards to being a mainstream success with the general public, that's possible, but that's a bit harder to say for sure given how difficult that would be by comparison.

While Night is dubbed, Sentai has the rights to it, and they generally don't do TV deals.

They own the OLD Stay Night that Deen made. The upcoming Ufotable series is owned by Aniplex.

I say they should air Madoka Magica. It's only 12 episodes, so Toonami would be able to start Kill la Kill faster. Besides, the rest of Anipex's shows with similar runs (as in 1 set of 12-13 episodes over 2) haven't been dubbed, and I doubt people will settle for Day Break Illusion anyway.

Madoka would be a welcome change of pace for Toonami but I hesitate to think they will actually play it.

Both Sword Art Online and Magi began broadcasting in the US with English dubs within about a year of when they started airing in Japan. I honestly believe if Toonami is willing to play Kill La Kill, that it will have enough dubbed episodes to start airing (and not need require a hiatus) when Blue Exorcist ends.

Maybe if they dub the movies that could be an opportunity for Toonami to air Madoke without having to make a huge commitment. They could possibly even get a dub premiere that way.

Maybe if Sentai had a good enough relationship with Adult Swim, but they basically don't have one at all, and they have the old version they got because they get everything from TBS. If Aniplex wants to push the new one and get it on Toonami, it'll be on Toonami. Yes, it won't be dubbed until late 2015 at the earliest, but we're talking about an eventual followup to a theoretical eventual airing of Fate/Zero, which takes up half a year not counting any weeks off. It's not as if it would have to go straight through into Fate/stay night (and Fate/Zero itself was split-cour in Japan, not that that would mean anything since it's all been dubbed and released in America for a while now).

And all indications are that ufotable's Fate/stay night is meant to serve as a continuation of Fate/Zero more than something that should be experienced first. Obviously you have a different experience watching Fate/Zero if you're familiar with the story of Fate/stay night, but they're not adapting it so you can watch it before Fate/Zero.

Well the manga's been selling bleh here, that doesn't bode well for DeMarco's interest.

The problem with Fate/ZERO is that uncut the episodes generally hit the 25-26 minute mark. Even with the complete removal of the OP/ED themes and previews the show would still be too long to broadcast on American TV. Now, that's not affecting Black Lagoon for whatever reason (they're running that one uncut at 24 minutes) but they don't seem to be granting Aniplex the same mercy. If they were to run Fate/ZERO, they might as well make an entire timeslot devoted to infomercials, because they can't cut anything more out of Bleach or Shippuden to compensate.
