Family Guy managed to get over 2 million Saturday, but then Black Dynamite lost 800 thousand viewers. It really needs to be moved if they want the ratings for the rest of the night to go up.

I say bit Cleveland show or family guy before toonami

Is RC & SJ weaker than Black Dynamite right now?

I don't think there's any doubt that BDyn is turning away people that normally watch Boon & TOONAMI on Sat nights. But there isn't really any compelling reason to believe RC & SJ encores can do any better there. Boon was weakening on the night before BD arrived. Against the opening of Ted Boon did 1184 & Bleach 1011. I don't know how much [as] spent on BD but it must be a lot since they are giving its 2nd run better treatment than premiering ep's now. I can't imagine it being there at 11 in 2013 & I don't see any other [as] comedy being able to compete vs Axe Cop on FOX AD HD. So I think TOONAMI is fated to expand to 11 then & Clev will most likely be it's lead in.

Maybe 9p VB + BD, 10p FG*2, 11p Clev+Boon, 12a TOONAMI?

Family Guy managed to get over 2 million Saturday, but then Black Dynamite lost 800 thousand viewers.
We should point out that BD is in it's 2nd run now so the numbers are expected to be weaker. Even if they love BD from a creative standpoint, I can still see them moving it up earlier like they did Loiter Squad. I don't think an extra 100-200k HH for Bleach makes a big difference in $ but we are just a month away now from the start of the Holiday shopping season & Q4 ad rates are typically the highest for routine programming so I do think they will make some effort to raise the #'s. Possible sched:

9p VB + BD, 10p FG*2, 11p Clev+Boon, 12a TOONAMI.

Nothing hurts FG, & BD might actually get helped by VB fans. Not every ep of VB was awful. The Pilot, The Train, Honkey Kong, & Race Wars should appeal to VB fans. Meanwhile Boon should get a sizeable lift from the "new car feel" of Clev to the block.

KnowHowToGo.org seems to be filling the most spots & it appears on CN & CW as well. That skateboarding girl AdCouncil ad is definitely targeting 12-17 & I'm guessing there is some kind of tax or FCC benefit these networks are gaining in airing those public service ads. When watching [as] & TOONAMI try to keep track of how often it appears & give a shout out here on that. While [as] has their preference for target demog, it doesn't always match what the sponsors want so it's interesting to keep an eye on them as well.

It's no wonder Bleach got a million though because Family Guy almost got 2 million
Sat's FG is looking even better considering that FG is now struggling to draw even 2.5m on any day of the week! The FOX season premiere of FG was down 20% from last yr & right now the biggest culprit is FOOTBALL. Both NBC's Sun Football & ESPN's Mon Football are seeing much better avg's vs last yr. It seems as football rises, animation declines. It also seems SyFy suffers more than other networks as well. ESPN's Mon Football is particularly troubling to [as] because it's now sold in syndication. That's something I predicted would happen in the near future yrs ago. Cable/dish operators can no longer afford to pay for exclusitivity of content so more of it will wind up in syndication. I wouldn't be surprised if AMC goes that route for Walking Dead next year. Only the best will do when it comes to syndication.

It seems now there is a serious threat to [as] daily. Sun & Mon of course have the NFL. Tues has Sons of Anarchy & Wed will soon have American Horror Story. Thu has the NFL + ranked college teams (this week #13 USC). Fri features PT college football, & Sat is just insane right now. This Sat PT features 8 different matchups on ABC/ESPN networks alone & then 2 more including FOX & ND vs Miami on NBC. If that weren't enough 2 ESPN networks feature games in LT too!

FOOTBALL seems to be expanding in programming time each yr now & that's coming at the detriment of animation & sci-fi. You needn't look any further than this: Last wk [as] accounted for just 14 of the top 50 in 18-34. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/10/02/page/3/ This time last yr [as] featured 26 of the top 50 in 18-34 & 25/50 in m18-34.

[as] has bigger problems than Sat nights right now. This time last yr, [as] featured 26 of the top 50 18-34 & 25 of the top 50 m18-34 programs. This yr that # is down to 14 of the top 50. FG is struggling to reach 2.5m viewers now & even the FOX season premiere was down 20%. It seems as football programming time expands & rises in the ratings, animation & sci-fi suffer most. That's no easy fix. SyFy's Alphas barely reached 1m viewers vs Bears @ Dallas. ESPN Mon Football is now sold in synd as well. Bears @ Dallas pulled well over 20m for ESPN & another 17m in synd that night. I still think SyFy's Mon weakness could lead to Ani-Mondays returning for LN.

Well I'd have to say that was a successful first night for the return of the midnight run.

I'm glad to see Titan and the ThunderCats hold their own at 2AM. 700,000 is quite commendable for 2AM on a Saturday night.

Looks like some people are very happy Cowboy Bebop is back. FMAB isn't any worse off for moving into the 3AM hour either. It beat Bleach's encore ratings for the recent month or so.

Nothing below 500,000 is a great change of pace. Toonami's getting it done.

With Bleach beating out Black Dynamite and the potential for ThunderCats and Sym-Bionic Titan to do better earlier in the block that 11PM hour may be within reach.

Looks like the "Midnight Run" did quite well for itself, I would still like Adult Swim to advertise the night a little better though because I've been watching a ton of Adult Swim recently and have only seen maybe 2 Toonami promo's. All in all it's positive to see some gains for the block and to see that the airings of the programs from 3am-6am did better than the blocks encore shift, that in itself should keep the Midnight Run going unless for some reason people continue to taper off, I just wonder how DVR is going for the block for those who don't stay up to watch?

Before BDyn arrived, Bleach usually trailed Boon by 10%. Trailing it by a little over 3% is definitely progress especially since advertisers buy on on C3 (commercial ratings over 3 days) now. But if that 7% gain is mostly DVR with the loss of the encore, that probably looks more like 4% because about 1/2 skip ads. Still I imagine Bleach retains more viewers over the ad space than Boon does so that does bode well for TOONAMI moving to 11p in 2013.

The biggest losers were Sam 7 & C Sins w each losing 20-22% from their leads. E7 did as well as expected given it's weak lead (Sins). The next hr featuring STitan & TCats 2011 gained 7% on CS+E7. That's very good especially since the Fm:B hr lost 18-19% of that. FmA:B is on it's 2nd run & the gap betw it's ep is not good. GitS lost 14-15% from that which is OK for that hr. The Bebop hr besting the GitS hr is a testament to it's strength especially those lead ep.

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...ascar-more/152102/comment-page-3/#commentsThe gains for STitan & TCats 2011 seem to have come from WWE AM Raw on USA. It drew 392k, 0.18 18-49. STitan & TCats avg'd 84% better than that, but it's 18-49 gain was probably a little lower (0.33 18-49).

http://thefutoncritic.com/ratings/2...ll-tops-demos-for-espn-243110/cable_20121006/ The last PAC12 gm that night drew 2.5m, 1.17m 18-49 (0.9) & that started at 10:30p ET so that's a good comparison for Bleach & Sam7. That's 7:30p PT & drew more of a family draw than Bleach. Bleach likely did over 600k 18-49 (0.55). FG likely did (0.9) w 1m 18-49 (what it did Sun night).

11p Boon + Blch, 12a Inuyasha:FA + S7, 1a E7 + YJ, 2a ST + TC 2011, 3a FmB*2, 4a GS*2, 5a CB*2?

Young Justice continues to exhibit well above avg strength in 18-49. While TMNT is beating YJ:Invasion by 62% HH, YJ:I is beating TMNT in 18-49 (0.79 vs 0.74). I don't think TOONAMI can continue to ignore that strength. YJ S1 is 26 ep, ST is 20 ep, & TC 2011 is 26 ep. Invasion fig's to be 26 ep & a S3 is likely to follow. Casshern Sins will end in early Nov.

If they want to get the most out of Young Justice then encores of the premieres are the way to go. Though I'm sure reruns from the beginning would do reasonably.

Also last I heard, Invasion is 20 episodes bringing the series total to 46 unless it gets another season. Though the total viewers numbers and adult numbers have been exceptional for it's time slot, the kids ratings leave a lot to be desired which could very well cost it that third season.

YJ is still going on CN. Toonami really shouldn't be airing shows that are still airing on CN. I'm guessing more realistically a new anime replaces Casshern and when FMA finishes E7 doubles up, making room for a repeat run of Deadman or DRRR.

I'm going to go ahead a ask "why not?"

Toonami certainly doesn't have to air shows that already have slots on Cartoon Network but when you look at those adult ratings YJ is pulling in it cannot be denied that airing it on Toonami would be beneficial to the block. It also gives the older fans a chance to catch episodes they missed on Saturday mornings because not everyone has a DVR or even a working VCR.

It's something they should at least consider for the ratings potential but not in place of picking up another show that isn't already airing. We don't really need hour blocks of GITS and Bebop though and FMAB is nearly done with this run. They'd have the space for Young Justice in November on top of getting 1 or even 2 additional anime.

Yeah, I've been meaning to give that show a look, but it's on Saturday mornings, and... well, I love to sleep in, so it's kind of out of my time range. So airing it on Toonami would be great for me, personally.

But if it ends up not happening, I won't be upset about it.

You know what? I'd be all for Young Justice airing on Toonami, especially since it's popular with Adult Swim's demographic and it would help to diversify the balance between American cartoons and anime on the block. Remember, Toonami isn't an "anime block" more so than it is a block that specialized in "action" so putting Young Justice on the block would be a stellar move. It would also help to relieve Adult Swim of having to run multiple episode of Bebop, Brotherhood, or GITS, all of which they've been airing for years on end now and I think it's time for some fresh meat.

Over on Twitter, Jason DeMarco stated that he and the team were quote "pleasantly surprised" with the ratings for the night.
So... yeah? I guess we're doing alright?

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
