While Red Hood is awesome, could they have done a good story with him without retreading the grounds that his movie already covered?

Probably not, but it would've been a good excuse to flesh out Batgirl (who likely knew him) and possibly introduce Team members from the timeskip whom Jason Todd might be seeking vengeance against for whatever reason (e.g. if the Marvels failed to save him from the Joker, he might want revenge).

If anything I'd bet that it'd be Nightwing & Robin that would get more fleshing out with Red Hood around. Him and Batgirl rarely interacted in the comics, but of course they could change that here. And Red Hood going after random members of the Team like the Marvels doesn't make sense for the character to me. He had a very specific bone to pick with Batman in the comics and the movie, and to just make him some crazy vengeance happy character makes him kinda one-dimensional and is a disservice to the character.

Well, with Batman on Rimbor, we wouldn't have seen a Bruce/Jason confrontation even if they'd had enough room to include the latter in season 2. I'm suggesting that since Jason may well have died in a covert-ops mission on Earth-16, this version of him probably has an axe to grind with the members of the squad he was on.

Without Batman in the picture I picture him only really targeting his "brothers" Nightwing & Robin, and maybe Batgirl. What exactly would his motive even be for targeting other members of the team? Its not like his anger towards Batman comes from Batman failing to rescue him, but from failing to avenge him. Would he really get all bent out of shape cause his former team members didn't avenge him? Seems to me that really only makes sense with a more personal relationship like the father/son thing he has with Batman.

Maybe a strategy like abducting Tim or the retired Team members would be appealing to Jason in order to lure Dick and Barbara into a trap?

I wonder why the question about Donna Troy's death is a 'HUGE SPOILER'? After all, it's been confirmed that she was still alive in season 2 - they wanted to include her in "Satisfaction" and "Endgame"...

Nah, I think Weisman considers question 1 and 1a a spoiler request because it entails something else like Troia may not be in her teens/20s like the others and could be older than her comrades like Wonder Woman compared to her teammates on the Justice League. Well...to be fair, the first 3 were basically spoiler requests. 4, I was surprised he wouldn't say yes or no to. I vaguely recall their are certain characters he wouldn't reveal their ages for some reason on Ask Greg, but I forget which ones.

Still find it stupid that the success of any of Cartoon network show depends on Toys

It's nothing new. Even BTAS was a toy show. The problem is most of us here aren't collectors. But that doesn't mean we can't game the system with family members the "proper" age or toy drives. I have bought 7 or so BtB figures with that in mind.

Yeah that sounds more like Jason. I believe in an issue of Teen Titans Jason beat up Tim because he was mad that he replaced him, that could've been an interesting angle to cover since we didn't see that in the movie.

So very stupid.

I think the reason Young Justice didn't catch on with kids is not only because the stories were too complex....but the show wasn't funny.

Look back as to why the original Teen Titans back in 2003 was such a hit. It only focused on 5 main characters, had good stories and it was funny. Even ignoring the anime gimmicks, the show was a lot of fun. Kids had characters they could cheer for and enjoy.

Young Justice felt like it was aimed at the DCAU crowd who was craving another serious show since Justice League ended. I know that's not really true as it was intended for kids too, but that's what it felt like.

I agree that kids might not have interpreted it as not being fun (though there were plenty of light-hearted moments and humor), but it sells children much too short to suggest that the show was "too complex".

The inconsistent airing schedule probably didn't help either.

Pretty sure he said this before but Weisman confirmed no plans ever for Red Hood in season 2. And cryptic hint about naming the Marvels. Always great to see him still answer stuff on Ask Greg between Star Wars and Rain of the Ghosts.

He's going to be swamped between Gargoyles, Spectacular Spider-Man, YJ, Star Wars, and his novel questions. He's still getting Spec Spider-Man and Gargoyles questions to this day, so good luck with keeping it all on track, or at the very least keep up.

Seems like the reason for the military title in Mary's case would be to protect her identity. Artemis may have been comfortable with using her actual name, but Mary's younger and more vulnerable (in her normal form), and if her name was shouted out in battle then that would give the villains something more to work with in finding out her name, and then Captain Marvel's etc. I could be wrong though.

If he hasn't already, Mr. Weisman outright confirmed Freddy Freeman is Lieutenant Marvel and Mary Bromfield is Sergeant Marvel and got a little into Justice League leadership. Though oddly, still won't reveal who 27, 28 and A05-09 are, despite listing them in that one Ask Greg post.

I loved the show and haven't watched CN since. But it did have a few shortcomings.

-As people said, there's a lack of humor. Even series animes get more in than that. What jokes they had were often less exaggerated than they needed to be.
-The animation style is super serious and straight. I don't think the style works for most shows, and using it is a risk.
For example, Ben 10 the original series had a more cartoon/silly style to the animation. The sequels moved to a serious/straight style, and then Omniverse moved toward a super carrtoon/silly style. Out of all of them, the original Ben 10 series had the best animation style, in my opinion.
-Too much focus on team problems without it having enough of an impact on the team's performance. I get they wanted the team to have issues, but there weren't too many consequences for it. And it took away from the action.

I actually don't mind the problems, but I would have preferred a different animation style.

Too bad noone can do a JL or YJ series for now, I really enjoy them.
I have Korra on Nick but the main character is just... yea.

1) Mr. Weisman will be appearing at Anime Vegas 2013, November 1-3, 2013, at the Renaissance Hotel in Las Vegas. He's got a couple panels and signings. In terns of YJ, he's doing one with Yuri Lowenthal from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Paramount Room.

2) Brandon Vietti, Greg Weisman and many YJ actors will appear on the Young Justice Voice Actor Panel at the Long Beach Comic Con on Saturday, November 23rd at 2 pm.

I wonder why he has such a hard time confirmed the designations list even though its been generally pieced together and outright given out in this site's interview.

I mean is he saving it as a teaser for the game or something or just being his notoriously difficult self?

Oops, Billy Batson is A-05. It's 6-9 we don't know. I think my last set of guesses were Garfield Logan, Mary Bromfield, Freddy Freeman and Jim Harper were A-06-09.

I don't get why he's holding out on 27 and 28 or why he even revealed the designations in the first place. I think he recently stated Blue Devil is just an ally of the JL. I hate to think this is something he's given away at one of these YJ meet-ups that no one is talking about online. I haven't followed Weisman until YJ so I'm not all that familiar with that last statement, but I guess he's keen on revealing stuff on Ask Greg many years later as the case with Gargoyles and Spec. Spider-Man?
