Here's an interview Nerdy Show did with Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti: Episode 160

Interesting they were paired for Green Lantern initially then had a Space Ghost idea, and some of their inspirations for Young Justice. Learn the origin of "whelmed"! Really a great listen.

Also, they did reveal there was an idea for a Two-Face story and an issue that used an episode of Hello, Megan! as a framing device.

Huh, interesting.

Something caught my eye on Greg's answers today:

[h=3]Marvelman writes...[/h]Hi. Another poster asked whether Captain Marvel or Superman was faster. You said it depended on whether it was season one or season two Captain Marvel.
I'm a little puzzled by this statement. Cap's powers come from the gods so it's not like he can go to the gym and work out, or can he? Has season 2 Captain Marvel suddenly become stronger or faster. Is so, how and why?

[h=3]Greg responds...[/h]SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.

So this got me thinking, does Captain Marvel weaken in season 2 because his powers are split between the other two Marvels?

No, I remember Mr. Weisman said he wasn't using the power splitting gimmick between the Marvels for Earth-16. It's somewhere on Ask Greg.

Hmm, something I hadn't remembered till really recently is that Shazam himself is actually also a Lord of Order (provided that Weisman didn't deviate from this) --- that means his powers are finite but also directly proponent to the receptacles affinity for magic (In the case of Captain Marvel, Bill Batson, in the case of Dr. Fate, Ginvoti Zatanna).

I wonder if that then means the opposite might be true, that Billy Batson spent the 5 year gap learning the mystic arts to become a better receptacle for Shazam's powers.

Why don't they just let Greg Weisman make a direct to DVD movie for Young Justice consisting of a condensed storyline of whatever he planned for Season 3? They could even release it as part of their standard DC Universe movie line and its not like it would make much difference.

Just let the voice actors/designs be the same as the series and just do the final storyline with Darkseid/Savage there.

Because it would conflict with the fifteen other Batman movies they're planning.

Sadly thats not the case, its simply that a Season 3 of YL doesn't fit int eh scope of the DCU DTV project. the DCU DTV project is supposed to tread the water and try properties while trying to remain profitable. We see some very heavy attempts at that (IE Green Lantern: First Flight, Wonder Woman and The Flashpoint Paradox) but we also see some kneejerk recoils when movies fail to meet expectations and they need to firm up internal support.

Though a story set in Earth-16 might not be contrary to the DCU DTV project, doing a Season 3-ish release would.

Frankly, I think the series WAS profitable enough that DC should be able to justify another DC video release project grounded in Earth-16 with 2 movies a year based on Young Justice, 1 movie a year based on the Justice League of that universe and 1 movie a year based on a "Super Hero Family" (IE Bat Family, Super Family, Flash Family, Wonder Family, etc).

8 DTVs a year from DC should actually justify things and I think if they churring out DTVs almost monthly (and heck, I won't be opposed to DCU pumping out 6 and Earth-16 pumping out 6) then I think we PROBABLY would see a raise in sales. I do think part of the problem of sales is they aren't regular enough for non-regular fans to pay close enough attention. I think DC needs more releases, not less. More releases = more exposure.

Those issues could be solved with a deal with Netflix or Amazon.

Yes! DC would have a lot more sales if they came out more often. They're already at a disadvantage being a DTV, they need MANY releases a year. A couple a year in Earth-16 would make me ecstatic.

I just noticed how the JL rotate their Chairman roles.

They start with their authorization codes and change every 6 months. So 2 chairman roles in a year.

In year 0 Jan-June was Superman 01 then June-Dec The Batman 02 which was when the Young superheroes were formed

year One Wonder Woman 03 and The Flash 04
Year Two GL 05 and Aquaman 06
year three J'onn 07 and Arrow 08
Year 4 Hawkman and Hawkwoman 09 and 10

Year 5 when Invasion Season hits was when Captain Atom 12 then at the end gave chairman role to Black Canary 13 on July that year.

It skipped Zatarra 11 because he was taken over by Nabu. Hence Captain Atom was the chairman in year 5 then handing it to Canary at the end of series.

Very, very clever. Nice discovery. That explains a lot of things about the League. That also means that if/when Nightwing or Aqualad join the League, they won't be leading for a couple do years, even if they are both some of the best leaders around. That also goes for anyone else who joins the Team.

Interesting. This helps explain why Greg and Brandon chose to have a 5 year gap instead of say a 2 year or 3 year one. Captain Atom is one of Greg's favourites after all. :p And when season 1 was airing, he admitted that he'd been looking for ways to give Cap a role in the show.

Great discovery. So much to still figure our about this show.

A comic book is probably the most realistic way to continue this series.

More ideally, an IOS app game with comic strips. Maybe a Kickstarter to fund it?

Man - this really opens up your eyes as to how many little details Greg and Brandon sprinkled into this show. I'm sure there are more things like this in the show that are in plain sight but we haven't figured out yet.

Been in on the app for awhile. I'm not going to buy a toy to support Young Justice. I'm a grown man. I would play the heck out of an app and make in-game purchases related to the storyline.

Here's the thing I've noted before and its worth mentioning again: its fool hearty to believe Young Justice didn't spike Super Hero appearal.

The one jarring stat I have to toss out is while Young Justice was in production, the sale of Super Hero appearal jumped by 450%. I don't remember what FYE or Spenser's numbers were, but they were also absurdly high too. These sales weren't attributed to Young Justice because none of them directly reflected Young Justice nor were they in any way, shape or form related to the show; they simply resembled the show. Lets face it, Superman's crest is Superman's crest, it doesn't matter if Superman or Superboy is wearing it. Same goes for most the other logos. Even Underarmor released a set of premium shirts now.

A lot of money was made as a result of Young Justice being on the air and though we can't sit back absolutely confirm its tied, the preponderance of the evidence absolutely suggests the market trend. Cartoon Network just absolutely failed in even considering these things.

I mean similarly, Thundercats appearal sold like mad too while Thundercats was on the air, but CN didn't get a piece of that action either.

Seriously, its time for CN to stop thinking their profits come from toy sales. There are other things people will buy to support their products.

What about toy drives?

I really hope they aren't copying from the show or the comics %100 i'd like to see the CW make there own young justice.
Heres the group I could see
1. Arrows Roy Harper
2. Superboy
3. Miss Martian (but that'd be a stretch)
4. Nightwing
5. Kaldur
6. Zatanna
7. Kid flash

Maybe have felicity be the one to watch over them

Today marks the 5th Year Anniversary of the HD Version of Skyward Sword. I appreciated how the HD Version of the game included quality of life improvements such as the option to use button controls.
You know at this point we really need to admit it is never coming home.

Happy 20th anniversary to Gummibär/Gummy Bear!

Here's to hoping he releases an anniversary album in stores on November 13th (with lots of music, videos, and extras).
Just brought a Switch 2 this past weekend. I hope Nintendo doesn't follow Sony's suit of getting rid of physical games.
