All the original dub leads are still active in the industry, or at least doing voices for video games. Will Crunchyroll care? Absolutely not! Hopefully it doesn't go to Amazon.

The original Funimation dub was an essential childhood anime for me. It's a "loose" dub, but nowhere near as loose as something like Shin Chan or Ghost Stories, with the basic plot and characterization staying the same - the main difference is that the narrator is noticeably more snarky and leaning on the fourth wall. At the same time, some of the pop culture references have been localized (though there's still plenty of references to Gundam and other anime).

I pray to Keroro that this is good. I would rather have a remake or readaptation that is closer to the manga (like Fruits Basket) than another isekai or whatever the trend is now.

sorry for bumping a year old thread if that's counts as bumping a old thread, but I discovered Sgt frog in the early 2010s and I can't wait to see how this new anime is gonna turn out
