Quite good. Joker is always fun, and this one was especially over the top. A better "humor" ep than Eclipsed, IMHO.
Eowyn: And Harley Quinn is always fun.
Oh, and its nice that they advance the Hawkgirl/GL romance. . . two eps before
Liked the ep, especially Grodd. Everything else has been said.
One comment, though: Grodd isn't only thinking of who he use against the JL, but also who is safe to bring onboard, and isn't going to either usurp him or try and kill their teammates.
Hawkgirl's mace probably is a creation of science. It was just created with magic in mind, from the time the Thanagarians kicked Cthulhu out.
IOW, a parallel to what the ancient Atlanteans did.
Theory on why Hawkgirl's mace was so effective against the forces of Cthulhu ( and magic in general ):
The Thanagarians basically kicked Cthulhu off their planet, right?? Now, how do you think they would do that??
By creating weapons capable of beating "him" and his magical powers. Kinda...
Very good ep. Not perfect, but definitely up to snuff for second season.
Comments:
-Finally, some Hawkgirl background!! Not what I expected, thats for sure. . .
-Aquaman is his usual self. Definitely pretty badass.
-Solomon Grundy origin story and focus. Damn, completely...
Superman's costume reminded me of Mr Majestic, another WSU Superman analogue.
Who, btw, is replacing Superman in his own comic for a couple months, or so I heard.
Impression I got was the mace was absorbing some of the charge.
I think that was left deliberately untold, since they may deal with the possibility of the Flash dying in a future ep.
Again, I think this was left deliberately unstated, so as to leave room for future plots. Also, the idea that...
Most of my thoughts have already been said. Overall, great episode.
-Is it just me, or when Amazo became Golden Amazo, did he just mimick a *star*??
-Amazo is almost certainly going to appear again. Friend or foe, I know not, but simple force ain't gonna be enough to beat him.
The only reason why I'm leery about animated Darkseid having that ability is because it would imply he could bring Turpin back to life.
I do *NOT* want there to be even the chance of undoing them episode.
JackApostrophe: Sorry, I'm just thinking about how awesome the end of "In Darkest Night" is
JackApostrophe: Ahhhhhhhhhh
WashuWorshipper: Heh
WashuWorshipper: I wasn't a big fan of that ep
WashuWorshipper: OTOH, it was still better than Secret Origins
JackApostrophe: The rest of the episode...
Here's some brainstorming I and some other people did in chat.
WashuWorshipper: In any case, alot of me wishes they'd just make a Young Justice cartoon instead, rather than forcing the Wolfman/Perez Titans into being something they weren't
LeviathanmanZ200: Quick funny fact: in the "Mythos"...
I'm willing to bet their going to tear the heart out of her origin story.
Then again, I'm just bitter about their casual mixing of Wolfman/Perez Titans with Young Justice tones, when they should have just made a YJ:TAS in the first place.
( and I spent a large portion of this afternoon...
