General International TV Channels Thread

@Francisque @themidnightlore from the Facebook page of an old friend (Cosmattia75vista from Turin) I found a meme that flew over me for a long time. I was aware of Ora Esatta and Wanna Marchi, but then again, this is child's play compared to what you see here

Presenting Giorno e Notte, the miraculous diet program, which was a scam, like most infomercial products. Local TV stations, with the fall of syndication networks, had to resort to infomercials, some only a few hours a day, others literally "day and night". And it just came to pass that some of these stations carried K2 (when it was a syndication network), so if you were, say, strapped for cash and without SKY, and you were a follower of K2, you haad to wait for the block to start and be subject to infomercials, but none with the hypnotic power of Giorno e Notte.

I only discovered it last Thursday night and I can't keep laughing and singing the jingle in my head :P

The product is still marketed but I think it no longer appears on TV. It's as if its days are done. Last night I found a few Giorno e Notte parodies too

This encapsulates everything: the local station, K2 and the feeling this came on after the infomercials

Upon discovering this "wonderful" product, I searched for evidence of it being a scam, which I suspected. And I was right lol

They both have become memes these days, including that Cosmo one

Fantastic page "Prossimicongiunti" also has transformed Wanna Marchi and questionable personalities such as Nascia Prandi into memes LOL

"POV: it's snack time and you're waiting for animes on regional TV"

Based on a comment on the Cosmo video, I compared two stations, Telenorba 7 and Antenna Sicilia, from 2005 and 2009

The former in 2005 had enough local programming and had only 30 minutes of infomercials before K2

The latter in 2009 fits the description of the comment, as they were too tight in the post-syndication years and only had four news bulletins, a Latin American telenovela at 1pm and K2. Meaning that Giorno e Notte aired literally day and night

Some stations were too tight and aired infomercials all afternoon. I think the crack team of Giorno e Notte experts were the logical successors of Wanna Marchi's evil plans.

Since last year, I translated several Italian Wikipedia articles to English: Aiazzone, Italia 7, Giorgio Mendella, part of Wanna Marchi, the kitsch web series The Lady, Rete A (which was known for becoming an infomercial and teleshopping channel in the late 80s and was a national platform for Wanna Marchi), Junior TV, etc, maybe I'll make a few more, such as Telenorba 7, add the history of K2 in more detail etc.

Maybe one day Giorno e Notte deserves an entire video essay

Sadly, they air the shorts with the dub made by Empire and not with the classic one made by Zone Studio Oradea.

Won't take long for PSKY to close it.

RTL Klub Hungary closedown and MultiPIP (from UPC Hungary I guess) from 14 February 2000:

There are some mismatches here:

- On the Nat Geo slot, it's actually Minimax.
- On the M SAT slot, it's Nat Geo.
- On ARD 1 slot, it's Romantica. (added very quickly; one month earlier, in January 2000, it got a Hungarian audio track.)
- On Rai Uno's slot, it's most probably an adult channel.

Seems like Pirveli Arxi has bringed up back Who Wants to be a Millionaire back to the Georgian audience. Originally was aired under Rustavi 2.

And Szív TV has The Landscape Channel.

These "mismatches" are because of the closedown of MSat and Szív TV in 1999.
Yes, Rai 1 has timeshared with an adult channel, hence the covering. Other PIP videos uploaded by TechY has adult content covered out too.

Now music-deprived MTV Germany has terrible ratings , according a to user on Digital-Forum.it, something like 0,0% .

Good job Paramount!
People come for the music. It's a music network, not for reality. They stopped airing music in many feeds because they thought they wouldn't have a chance to compete against YouTube and Spotify. Don't change anything if it works.

And Norway's unbeaten streak over Brazil continues thanks to their 2-1 victory that led them qualified to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals (second round, first round is the round of 16) tonight.
Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
