And with a reason. I didn't like it when it came out, moreover, it never aired in the States. I think even Craig McCracken criticized thar or am I mixing things up?

That's not happening ever. That anime isn't even fully owned by WBD—it's actually jointly co-owned with both Toei Animation and Aniplex (and that includes all characters, elements and interpretations of The Powerpuff Girls characters and elements original to the Powerpuff Girls Z anime). Toei Animation and Aniplex have to both specifically approve any and all usage of Powerpuff Girls Z characters and elements in order for WBD to use them in other works.

The 1998 and 2016 iterations of The Powerpuff Girls are fully (100.0%) owned by WBD, however. Characters and elements original to either iteration can be freely used by WBD in future Powerpuff Girls media.

Very true. But I think it's possible they may use legally distinct designs to make a gag out of it. But prob for a moment, maybe background bit. And if they are willing to put the effort. I dont really see it being a priority unless the story is a "multiversal madness" sort of thing. [and, goodness, I hope not.]

I would be happy to have a PPG thing made. But honestly, this just brings up the question of what happened the Craig M reboot that was mentioned years ago. I know it's a 50/50 chance we will ever find out. But the question is as present in my mind as that this movie could exist.

But as said before, I'll believe it when I see a trailer.

PPGZ isn’t widely known in the US. Unless this is some weird Enter the Powerpuffverse multiverse crossover where the PPG meet the 2010s cn, CW pilot, tv special, etc variants, I don’t think we will see them.

Yeah we're not going to get a PPGZ unless it's a Turtles Forever esque alternate universe shout out.

Though that does raise the question; what WOULD a Powerpuff Girls sequel movie even be about? The first had the angle of the origin which offers the potential of more drama and explanation that extends what you would see them do in the show but what other plot could really be worth doing a movie on? Especially because a lot of PPG stories even at 22 minutes could feel uber extended out just for run time and I wouldn't want that for a second film. I also do know even if this somehow is traditionally animated (which seems unlikely) we ARE going to see them have to fit in some extra characters not from the show to try and get guest stars in there. Like I give massive props to the 2002 film for not bothering with any actual gimmicks and just being a straight "we are doing a movie because the story and framework needs more then a TV show episode" feel to it, but even in 2002 that bombed; no way would that be allowed in late 2020s/whenever this comes out so yeah something is going to be done to make it more "cinematic".
