"Ghostbusters: Night Shift" (Netflix Animated Series) News & Discussion

One thing is certain: this officially retcons XGB as being an alternate universe...at least, I think so.
Pretty much there's a couple canons at this point. But pretty much every canon except the reboot has their own take of what happens in the 90s. 2 they disband and a new team forms later on, 2 the originals keep on going and don't run out of jobs to do.

-Original movie canon
(dates in-universe when each takes place)
1984-Ghostbusters
1989-1990-Ghostbusters II
1994-Ghostbusters: Night Shift
2021-Ghostbusters: Afterlife
2022-Ghostbusters: Back in Town and Ghostbusters: Dead Man's Chest comics
2024-Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

-Animated canon
-Mid-1980s to early-1990s: The Real Ghostbusters
-Moot: Slimer!
-1997-Extreme Ghostbusters

2016 Reboot canon
-2016: Ghostbusters: Answer The Call

TVG Canon
-1991: Ghostbusters: The Video Game

IDW Canon
-Up to late 90s: IDW Publishing comics

T am curious whether any voice actors from the Real Ghostbusters might return, but I wonder if Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarche might be too old to play younger versions of Ray and Egon.
With a talented voice actor, that maintains their instrument, there's a good chance they can age down their voice. And a better chance with seasoned actors like Welker and LaMarche. But, of course, there is an upper limit at some point.

To be fair, the first Ghostbusters movie had some humor that wasn't aimed at families.

It's irrelevent either way. The fact is, a new Ghostbusters series was announced for Netflix that is/was going to be family friendly. I and others can only assume that Night Shift is the same series, and that it will still be family friendly. That's all I was saying. The original 1984 movie has nothing to do with it (necessarily; put it that way).

Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
