An actor or actress is bound to play more than one role during their career. However it’s less common for them to play different characters from the same franchise, in separate projects. Although to be fair, this has also become a bit more frequent taking into account the sheer amount of superhero media that has been produced in the last couple of decades. Voice actors portraying multiple characters is perhaps the most common case, as they are sometimes playing them even in the same project. But we’ll stick to live-action portrayals of characters for this article.
The incentive to start this editorial was the recently released Supergirl live-action movie, starring Milly Alcock in the title role, but also featuring Jason Momoa as Lobo the intergalactic bounty hunter. Momoa has previously played Aquaman in a few previous productions. So, to keep things a bit relevant to this occurrence, below is a list of other actors who have played either Aquaman or Lobo, as well as at least another DC Comics characters in live-action projects over the years.
