Already have from previous releases:
Gaogaigar: Season 2
Already received:
Evangelion 1.11: You Are (NOT) Alone (Blu-Ray)
Slayers Revolution: Season 4
Awaiting:
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Vol. 1 (Blu-Ray)
Probably order at next relevant TRSI sale:
Queen's Blade, Wandering Warrior: A Single Step
Don't really care what's on the cover. I'll be ordering the BluRay as soon as TRSI puts it up for ordering. I hope this release is at least a minor success so Bandai keeps releasing Gundam in this country.
In today's environment, I doubt a dub will be produced for a 150+ episode show. I'd love for it to get a great dub but I'm still going to pickup the show to support the licensing of some wonderful old school goodness.
It doesn't really surprise me all that much that Jeff doesn't care any longer. Maybe it's just that as he aged he found out that he didn't really care about the wrapping as much or more than the package itself.
Toonami provided a nice easy & 'free' way to introduce my kids to anime & some other interesting animation. I've never been much of a 'block' lover, I'm a 'content' lover. Living in this day where my TiVos grab whatever programming I want regardless of the when & where it shows up, I easily skip...
Two boxes from TRSI just arrived and are sitting in my office. Amongst the stuff in there is:
Negima Vol. #2 (limited edition)
Dragon Ball Z Movie 13: Wrath of the Dragon Uncut
Also, it's not anime but Collection 10 from Mystery Science Theater 3000 arrived yesterday. It includes their...
Looked more like an AIM chat than a real interview. That plus my 12-year old daughter could string together better questions (and she's an Evanescence fan)...
I'd like a 26 episode series that has both elements but leaning more heavily toward action. Having seen all three (finished both FMP:F & TSR this weekend) I like to see a longer than 12-13 episode show that melds both elements.
I don't think there's much to explain but on the season premier of Nip/Tuck there was a scene where one of the leads (male plastic surgeon) was shown as the victim of anal rape by a masked attacker. It was pretty graphic and shown on a non-premium cable channel (FX). I think the original poster...
What can I say... mecha is my favorite genre of anime with Giant Robot stuff being my 'guilty pleasure'. I love Gundam (UC mostly) but the Mazinkaisers, DaiGuards, etc are pure entertainment. No political undertones, no ambiguous villians (Hmmmm.... Dr. Hell? Could he be a good guy? Don't think...
ADV knows me and seems to put out shows that I say I'm not going to buy.... then I do. The one before Godannar was Dai-Guard. I love this show. It's Giant Robot action with a healthy dose of "Go Nagai"-eqsue fanservice. The male hero has the same sort of figure that Superman & Batman have...
Both my son & I though the dub was great but we also knew that most of the fan community (outside of here and AnimeOnDVD) would always have a problem with it. I'm shocked at the relatively even-handed postings I've seen on some of the more rabid message boards. So, all in all, Viz must have done...
Today's boxes of joy from RightStuf contained:
- .hack//Legend of the Twilight manga #3
- Azumanga Daioh disc #6
- Invader Zim disc #3 (OK, it's not anime but it came from TRSI)
So, three series of things have been completed.
Yesterday's RightStuf shipments brought:
- Gundam Seed manga volume #2
- Captain Tylor postcards (used to bring my Zeta Gundam order up to $150 needed for coupon use)
If RightStuf lists it before the current GotAnime Coupon expires ($12 off $150) the box should end up costing about:
$199.98 (list price)
- $49.99 (25% early pre-order discount)
+ $0.99 (Captain Tylor postcards to bring order over $150)
-$12.00 (Got Anime coupon for August/September)
-$13.90...
Yes, RightStuf typically ships things when they get them in. They don't wait until the "street date". Typically Funimation & ADV stuff arrives a week or two before the street date. Their own stuff (like Comic Party) ships very early. I think volume 2 of Comic Party shipped nearly a month early.
Hmmm, I guess I'm going against the grain here and saying "I liked it". It wasn't the best thing I've ever seen but it made me laugh a few times. Maybe it's because I actually saw most of the shows that this was a parody of (and I saw them when they were network shows not syndicated)... maybe...
Friday's (yeah it was July but I didn't have time to post it) RightStuf delivery was:
- RahXephon: The Motion Picture Limited Edition (nice box)
- Azumanga Daioh disc #3
