I was honestly amazed at the quality of the animation and CG. Way beyond anything they've ever done before, and completely exceeded my expectations. Hopefully better ratings can get them a larger budget, and we can see more of these bumps in the future.

The problem with restoring any piece of the end credits or preview would be that the only other place they could cut is the opening credits. And I'm sure no one wants to cut or shorten any of that iconic opening sequence.

There needed to be more Toonami branding and bumps. But it's a great start, and it was a fun night. And this time, we know it's coming back next week. :D Long live Toonami!

First time watching the first episode all the way though. Thoroughly impressed. Hopefully Adult Swim can keep getting shows of this quality. Great way to kick off the new Toonami.

Hey, I think this is the first anime Adult Swim has shown that's in actual widescreen HD since Bleach movie 2! ...which was the only other anime they ever showed in HD. It's about time.

That's pretty much how I'm treating Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist. I'll be paying attention to Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins since they're new, GITS since I need to watch the whole series for once, and I'm always watching Cowboy Bebop. :D

That's probably what happened. They likely still had the CG models for TOM 3 and the 2003-2007 Absolution somewhere in their computers, so I assume they took them and upgraded them to show more detail for HD, and made new bumps. Lowest price on Amazon is around $75. Wish I had been paying attention back when it came out, I would have loved to have a physical copy of that CD. No way am I paying that much, though.

As much as I hate to say it, chances of Eureka Seven AO are slim, due to the, well, mediocre performance of the first series. You never know what risks they'll take though. It does have plenty of action in it, and loose enough connections to the first to not require it. I'd love to see it on...

I've been looking through that thread too. I don't think I posted in it, but I remember reading it that day and watching Toonami when it ended...I never imagined that TOM and Toonami would actually return one day.

I hope they are in the minority. It worried me back during the #BringBackToonami campaign seeing tweets advocating the return of the April 1st schedule. That night was extremely fun, but is not sustainable for a revived Toonami in the long run. The best we can hope for is a couple shorter...

Like everyone else, I also missed the special bumps for the action block. Whether they were customized for the shows, or even those photographs of Japan, they weren't that bad. The shows were great too. Then they switched to HD and the bumps all went downhill from there.

Nothing wrong with the classics, but it's amazing how many people want Toonami to be nothing but DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam, and Sailor Moon. Toonami cannot and should not cater exclusively to the nostalgia crowd. There's no way it can regain any of its former glory if it's stuck in the past...
