It was good, but for one the few times this season, Family Guy before it made me laugh more.

The last few eps of American Dad have been...kind of off? Anyone else feel that way, save the last episode with Steve and Stan and their man ballons. don't know, just get that feeling.

3.5/5

Good episode, very random but good. When Barry and Steve went over that drink thing with the pills I emmidiately thought Princess Bride and nearly freaked when Barry said it a second later.

Good episode B+

My friend did the exact same thing.

I never realized how annoying Barry's voice is. But then I realized I could do a damn good impression of it.

My favorite quotes from tonight's episode:

Barry: "Steve, someone left this on your doorstep."

(Barry holds up a a small carpet that reads "WELCOME".)

Steve: "That's a door mat, Barry."

Barry: "Who's Matt Barry?"

----

Stan: "Steve, I don't need you per se."

Steve: "You don't need me?"

Stan: "Per se. God, doesn't anyone appreciate Latin anymore?"

(Barry raises his hand.)

Main Plot: So Stan drops Steve for Barry, the boy gets off of his meds, and suddenly, he's a psychopath. Interesting premise, not so much in the execution. I started to come around as the episode went on, but there's not much good I can say out of this. This only become worthy of watching in the third act, when Steve is stuck on the oil rig detention camp and figures everything out. And Stan's 'bonding stuff' did prove useful to Steve in the end.

Oh, and though I don't watch 'Arrested Development,' I completely agree with the analogy (Steve = America, Stan = Arrested Development).

Sub-Plot: Oy. Roger, you're killing me, man! Roger's the party animal, we know that. Hayley's the activist. Clash the two... and you get nothing out of the deal. This was pretty much dead on arrival, with nothing good or bad to really show for it... 'cept for wasted space.

I'm surprised... almost as much of a waste of time as 'Family Guy' was tonight. 'American Dad' going downhill again?

6 out of 10 for "With Friends Like Steve's."

This was a good ep of AD. The A plot was pretty good but Steve was getting bashed quite a bit. The B plot with Roger and Hayley was pretty mediocre, felt sorry for Hayley.

3/5 Good but not great episode of American Dad.

Agreed. Especially since we don't get to see much of Hayley at school.

The main plot was fun. Barry as an evil genius was scarey, but his voice was great, as was his plot to frame Steve. The Princess Bride thing made me laugh.

Again, I have to commend Family Guy on its ability to set things up. Particularly Barry's anti-intelligence pills and Steve's ability to talk to dolphins.

Wow, it was set up in Family Guy? These writers are even better than I thought! :p

"The Franklin Mint?!!......yeah, I'd rather die."
One of the best lines I've heard from the show in forever. Stan wanting to dig up Francine was great too.

Craig Ferguson as evil Barry was great on the show.

What's interesting in these last two episodes is that even though he hangs with those nerdy kids Steve is obviously not as fond of them as the others are. Maybe not Toshi, he's just forced into being with them.

The bit with Roger is actually kind of realistic, where I went there have been some controversies of fraternities partying, one of them even got suspended last year. Roger looks good with that Jamacian outfit (seen earlier in the series too)

And Stan is still acting like a bad father only to redeem himself in the end. What a surprise.

It was a good episode though. I liked the irony with Steve being bored with everything his father taught him, only to end up using it to get out of military camp. We also get to see a dark side of Barry's character. It was wierd and unexpected but it led to some really great moments. Roger was also pretty good.

And the best line: "He's as mad as he is fat!"

My grade is an A!

Certainly I'm glad Stan went back to disliking Barry by the end of the episode. I just love his intense dislike for him. The way he's annoyed to no end by everything Barry says and can't seem to help it.

Wow, here I am trying to compliment American Dad on being different than Family Guy and being able to set up their plot better, and I end up confusing the show's titles. Way to go, me.

Backwards. The breast episode was the one that was off; the others have been great. I expect the twist about Barry to play into future episodes.

I quite enjoyed this episode, I didn't think it was "off" at all. Well, maybe the B-plot a little. But no one's mentioned all the stuff I liked! The CSI-style lab where Stan has to turn his head very slightly to the right. The sargeants getting hit by the steel tubes. Dolphins talking about mackerel. Okay, I guess you did mention the Princess bride and Arrested Development refs, the latter of which made me hang my head and say "awwwwww, so true." :(

Not Bad Of An Episode 3/5

See, THAT'S the kind of review you should do. Short and sweet. Not long recaps like you do in the Simpsons and Robot Chicken threads.

If his posts are annoying, they're certainly not as annoying as your constant responses and criticisms to them. Back off, man.

Okay, I'll stop.

Heh I loved the pan out from Francine which revieled the neighborhood was shaped like the notes being played durning the revelation. That and the guard singing Oliver Twist. :p
