Good episode, not the best but it was good. I like the word Refoogee, it sounds silly especially when it comes from Stan. The subplot was random and ended abruptly so I wasn't too fond of that.

B+

Yet I bet not too many people got the joke at the end of the scene at the club with Roger and Francine saying "Jews are not allowed". :p
Might that have been a thinly veiled Caddyshack reference?

One of those 'moderately funny, watch for the fun of it' episodes.

Main Plot: Was alright, I guess, with a couple of funny moments. The opening was one... Stan and Francine battling to get Steve in camp/keep him out. Also, Stan getting T-shirts and tetherballs from the CIA as supplies; using an 'Olympics' to do battle with the 'rival' camp, and... well, that's pretty much it. And Steve doesn't even get the girl...

Back Plot: Slightly better, only if because Roger's my favorite character... though not one of his best efforts. The whole 'likes being a character' phase was fun, as well as getting Francine in on it. Concept fun, execution... not so much. Smelled of 'Family Guy,' as in the jokes that were there went on too long. Most notably in two cases - when Roger and Francine are trying to put together their 'profile' at the start; and their mean talk towards each that eventually... key word 'eventually'... scared their new friends away. I did love how the latter spiral started, though... changing things up, i.e. "It's been established!"

6.5 out of 10 for "Camp Refoogee."

They cancelled Arrested Development for this garbage?

No, they cancelled Arrested Development because no one watched it.

Why was Hayley eating beef and cake? I thought she was a vegan.

^I think it's pretty clear she was painfully OOC in this episode...

Good way of putting it. The Francine/Roger subplot didn't do much for me, although I did like the "It's been established" thing.

Despite Haley's being out of character, I liked the main plot. Stan being oblivious in a non-annoying way, trying to remember that actor's name, and all the stuff with the "rival camp". The lion and the soapbox were great.

I also liked how they kept playing "Africa" by Toto. I wonder if a lot of people got that since they didn't play any of the chorus.

Yeah, I noticed it too.

Ep overall... meh. But, since Hayley's my favorite character, I'm pretty biased against it as it is. But, yeah, the dialog with Francine and Roger ("It's been ESTABLISHED") and some of the camp elements were good. But, seeing Hayley as a fat, drunk ignorant when it's clear she'd be anything but sank the ep for me.

It was good. Perhaps not as good as the two other animated shows it was sandwiched between, but better than average for AD. Those dumb getups Roger and Francine were wearing were spot-on. People out there actually dress like that, and haven't been targeted like they should be...

I was actually really digging American Dad before the break, but i was disappointed with this episode. The Refugee Camp thing just wasnt that funny. The sub-plot with Roger and Francine was funnier, especially the "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?" parody.

Pretty good episode, but did no one else love the Terminator 2 parody? ("Come with me if you want to live...at home this summer!")

Sub-par main plot combined with above-par side plot means... average, I suppose. The Roger/Francine plot was definately the better of the two, and was consistently funny throughout while throwing in some random shocking things toward the end. The Stan/Steve plot just was not particularly interesting. The only highlight I can think of there was Stan having to consider whether or not to accept the risk of losing the E! t-shirts to the rebels. Hayley... well, Hayley might as well not have been in this one.

3/5 - Moderately funny, but nothing particularly good or bad sticks out.

It was a pretty good episode, not great, but then again it's only the season opener. Francine and Roger's role-playing was hilarious, and I liked Stan's obliviousness to the situation they were in. The Terminater 2 parody at the beginning of the episode was also amusing.
