Are the newer nicktoons really that bad?

I would say yes, they are that bad. The exceptions to this are Harvey Beaks and The Loud House. The two don't interest me, but if Nick does more stuff like those two, Nicktoons will see renaissance. And I definitely hope that happens.

As far as I em concerned, the art of Pig Goat Banana Cricket is beautiful
That's your opinion and there's nothing wrong with it nor do I have anything against you, but the general consensus is that the show is ugly to no end.

The only thing that will make me regain faith in Nick at this point is if they gave Invader Zim a regular airing time again.

I kinda agree with SaneMan. Pig Goat Banana Cricket has some decent art style, and I think it's pretty original.
I don't like its humor, though.

There is no such thing as a ''general consensus'' about the art style of a cartoon.

Maybe on Nicktoons, but they won't do that on the main network. Once a show has ended/been cancelled, you can air reruns of it still for a couple more years, depending on how popular the show was, but after that networks prefer to move on to their more current shows. That's why stuff like The Splat exist to air those old reruns.

I know. I'm waiting for it to start airing on Nicktoons again.

No, but there is the general consensus about a cartoon and the art style is part of it. It's one thing to have a good show with bad art (Jimmy Neutron would be a personal example) but I've heard at least 5 people who wanted to throw up while watching the show.

I literally had to throw up during Chowder, but that doesn't make it bad art. Chowder's just a bit vertiginous...

But does this make you throw up?

PGBC - Damn good artstyle, but a huge victim of bad writing, in my honest opinion. Still, that's some gorgeous art we got here, mate.

No, none of those particular pictures make sickening, but the colors are noticeably dull. Perhaps a better example would be the intro of the show.

At we can agree on something; the bad writing.

The intro is awesome
one of the most rocking theme songs I have seen in a cartoon in years

You know what? I'm ditching this thread.

I'd say the urge to throw up is less art style and more a combination of things that are happening, and poor color choice.

I'm pretty sure I heard this was supposed to be chocolate, but what does this shade of brown make you think of? Certainly reminds me of something worse than chocolate:

I guess the one thing about PGBC that's kinda cool is that it really feels like one of the Nickelodeon Magazine comics come to life. Which makes total sense since the creators worked on Nick Magazine.

Ya I'm on the "it's ugly" side of things, I really don't like calling a bit of animation ugly, but man PGBC's art style makes my stomach churn. And not just the gross-out bits, but just average bits of the show. Everything looks like it's melting in a microwave. I really don't know how to explain it that well, sorry, but PGBC is just not a pleasant show to look at. The last show to make me feel this was was Ren and Stimpy. (And to a lesser extent the Might B!)

I like a majority of the older Nicktoons (including Rugrats and its spin-off All Grown Up!). The only Nicktoons I watch these days are SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, most of the other Nicktoons they air these days are sub-par in my opinion.

For the most part if Nick would air these more people would feel better about these shows but rarely airing them on Nick people probably don't have any feelings towards these current shows that hardly air.

How is it ANY worse than Ren & Stimpy or Rocko's Modern Life?

No, to be honest the only Nicktoon in recent years that really rubbed me the wrong way was Sanjay and Craig. I didn't like that show at all. Breadwinners actually had some potential, but instead just settled on being mediocre to decent. That's just my personal opinion, although I can see why some despise this show. Pig Goat Banana Cricket was pretty good actually, at least for the first few episodes. I liked the slice-of-life format, the characters themselves seemed very zany and fun, and the plots were wacky and enjoyable. The later episodes of the show seemed less interesting and more gross-out based, at least to me. Stopped watching the show soon enough. Harvey Beaks was ok, nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about. The Loud House is definitely the best one yet, with the show being one of nick's shows, period. I don't think new Nicktoons are that bad. What's destroying the network are it's sitcoms.

Cartoon Network has really helped me cope with some dark times this year.
Starting to be active on the forums again since this is one of the few places I can have informed, good-faith discussion about cartoons.
The Voyo-exclusive Romanian dub of Garfield and Friends goes on with the second season now being relased. I was afraid they will forget about the show after only one season.
