Here's the Animation Magazine article for the upcoming second season.

Biggest take-aways from me where James Tucker taking on a more supervisory role since Bruce Timm is working on other projects and the return of the B:TAS-style title cards!
-James Tucker teases season 2 will be a little bit darker and action-heavy but leaning into more film noir influences and horror.

Yeah, curious how far they'll take it with Scarecrow and Joker.

-The season 2 head writer was Geoffrey Thorne. Thorne calls season two an escalation.

Ah, was wondering who took Brubaker's place. I believe Thorne did some Marvel animation like Eyes of Wakanda.

-The level of villainy Batman faces grows increasingly extreme as events push him toward a confrontation with the Joker.

Definitely felt that from the trailer and felt like a lot more name villains are popping up this time.

-Animation vendors for season 2 include Studio Grida and Doghead Animation.

Grida's a good choice. Very intrigued and pleasantly surprised with an Italian studio but loved their work on Bat-Fam.

-There will be title cards for each episode like you would seen in an old black-and-white movie from 1940.

Nice. Funny coincidence, I was just listening to DCAU Review's interview with Eric Radomski and the BTAS title cards came up.

I will say for Roxy I feel like given the armored Rocketeer suit I feel like it's supposed to be a "surprise" when they reveal there's a woman under there.
Batman: Red Claw Roxy Rocket? A woman?
Red Claw Roxy Rocket: Do you have a problem with that?
Batman: Not at all. I'm an equal opportunity crime fighter.

:P

Yeah, he also worked on the Black Panther season of Avengers Assemble before that. I had to look it up but also wrote for Justice League Action ("The Brain Buster").

I recall when they released those animated titles for season 1, and thinking those would be used on the show; would be cool if they have animated title cards for the new episodes.

"to become slightly — and only slightly — more emotionally available" - We can't have this version of Batman suddenly become B:TAS Bats or emotionally healthy and open, can we :p?

Geoffrey Thorne is a very talented writer so I think the show is in good hands with him :).

I wonder if Timm is going back to doing his own DC Animated Features now that those are coming back with Knightfall ?

Yay! Title cards! And on-point film noir title cards at that :D!
Definitely felt that from the trailer and felt like a lot more name villains are popping up this time.
Also fits normal Batman development. He starts off fighting the mob and organized crime until the Supervillains start coming out of the woodwork O_o.

Animation Magazine also says that the second season uses "more rigged animation." Considering the rather staid animation from season one, this doesn't sound like a promising sign of improvement. But if James Tucker says “I like to think we upped the quality of the animation a bit from Season 1,” I'm still prepared to believe him.

Almost like he's acknowledging that was a common complaint of season 1...

So Scarecrow DOES wear a more explicit plague-doctor mask (wait, so he's more CROW than ever) while I'm 70% convinced the dude in the neck brave is Hugo Strange O_o.
I thought so too, but in the trailer, when Riddler says "When we get rid of the Batman", there's a guy facing back who looks a lot like Hugo from the Batman: Strange Days short.

Knowing this show they'd subvert your expectations that it IS Hugo Strange by reusing the design :p.

I didn't realize Scarecrow would be wearing a crow mask; you can't really tell from the trailer when he's looking directly at the camera, but there is a subtle shape of the beak if you look closely. Sort of reminded me of the ending of the Aztec Batman movie, though that was Penguin.

I don't think Neck-Brace is Strange (I mean he is, just not Hugo), but he should be a rogue and not some simple goon if he's featured alongside the others.

I'm guessing that the mask might be based on the medieval plague-doctor masks.

The artist is Mitch Gerads, who also did the key art for season two of Batman: Caped Crusader. Here's the textless artwork:

I'm kind of amazed that's Gerads...not only because he's such a famous artist (even if he's done, like, a Vigilante/Eagley book) but also how well he was able to match the shows' style O_o.

Happy 20th anniversary to Gummibär/Gummy Bear!

Here's to hoping he releases an anniversary album in stores on November 13th (with lots of music, videos, and extras).
Just brought a Switch 2 this past weekend. I hope Nintendo doesn't follow Sony's suit of getting rid of physical games.
Find it hard to beleive how this upcoming set has more than one normally-considered "politically incorrect" cartoon in new restoration form..
