I wish CN would take off T&JT, Mad, and Scaredy Squirrel from Cartoon Planet. CP is suppose to show episodes of Classic CN shows.
Well, my point was wrong.. Cartoon Planet will still keep on going! But there's some really good news.. MAD won't be on for this one! Which in case, it means that it's going to be "recent addition-free!". Here's the line-up (though it's an encore night): Camp Lazlo: Parasitic Pal / PPG: Stuck Up, Up and Away / KND: Operation I-S.C.R.E.A.M. / Courage: Courage and the Bigfoot
Even though so far from the look of things.. but I think it only might be the one and only time that we ever get episodes (from CN's classic shows) that aren't new to Cartoon Planet in a whole day since awhile back. But who knows, because in the previous times.. Courage would sometimes having a different episode. Which happened before with an example like how Cow & Chicken's The Molten Fairy was supposed to air, until being Courage's Night of the Were-Mole. Or the Lil' Muriel episode being the Bigfoot episode that will air again. So, it's likely a slow start. So we won't be getting any more recent shows, but CP is still just looping the same 10 shorts from the same set of shows. I honestly don't know whether that's a step up or down.
Yeah, i kinda feel the same way on this.. but considering the looks of it's recent amount of ratings.. i don't think it might hold up the strongest on the position. But i do hope Cartoon Planet will be returning back on Friday Nights again.. knowing that i feel it's more the reason of the additions here. If it does return back on October like last year. And i hope they remove Annoying Orange (as i feel this show is not worth having in, especially being a show that's not even liked by many, which could be reason on how the block isn't being as big as before). Now it's a shame we don't get K6-11 Saturday morning rankings anymore. Would've loved to see how Cartoon Planet does in the target audience.
Well, according to the ratings now.. it's been going bad than it's been on Fridays & Thursdays from July. From what I've seen. It made about 8 to 9 something.. instead of 12 or 15 mark from the block back in the time it aired. But I think the obvious reason is because of the fact that the more "recent" shows are airing.. and CN not getting it right when the meaning of "new to the block". It's worse being to 6 mark on Thursdays from it's final air on Thursdays. So in short, it's being doing bad compared to back in 2012 (when they actually did their ratings very good at the time). What were Cartoon Planet's ratings numbers on Friday nights like compared with what was in the timeslot before 2012?
If it had been doing okay I would have thought it would remain there, although I guess viewer interest has probably dropped quite a bit from last year because of CN's questionable rotation of shows
Obviously Cartoon Planet's recent airings of more recently canceled or soon-to-be canceled shows on what's ostensibly a block for classics hasn't helped, but CP's biggest drawback is its' extreme lack of variety. The block literally repeats the exact same set of cartoons week after week, rarely if ever deviating from that established loop; I mean seriously, how many times can CP air "Bloo's Brothers"? Why do they never show any Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy shorts beyond season 1? Add to that how CN apparently only made 8 Bark and Zorak bumps in total which also get repeated constantly. Is it really any wonder CP's viewership has been dropping lately? The block is the Boomerang channel in microcosm. Is it really too much to expect CN to run every 11-minute short from that era that they own?
It wasn't a misunderstanding by any means that they started airing Scaredy Squirrel or MAD. They just tried to get some more viewers for these current shows by putting them on Cartoon Planet probably. That it didn't work out is another thing. They don't shows on the block based on what one person is saying. They have a lot og things to consider. They also wouldn't make some big misunderstanding like that. They'd likely listen if they heard the same things from many fans in their target audience. Otherwise, they'll likely go with what they think is right.
It's because I've wrote to CN on trying to ask them on "Squirrel Boy" the cartoon that aired back in 2006 (and was CN show that some may not be familiar, unless it's the old fans of the channel).. but they mistaken the show for Scaredy Squirrel (which made me worried by a bit). What makes it more confusing that CN's website still contains the games that are from Squirrel Boy.. but they don't have the show itself. I do wish that the block didn't air MAD & Annoying Orange, as I feel that current shows aren't worth being on here (well, except Tom & Jerry Tales for a reason as I feel its not as current).Wonder what it was that put it in their head to make them think they were the slightest bit right about adding those shows to the block?
