BLOCK TALKBACK - Cartoon Planet

Nice little history lesson in this block, these are the predecessors, the makers of what's on now.

But they tried stealth airing old cartoons during noontime on weekdays, and that didn't take for very long. If this fails, that'll probably seal the deal for old Cartoon Cartoons.

now,now...

these cartoon attracted our attention, it will attract the young kids too. Ihope?:)

Have to say, I'm really enjoying this block as it's turning out far better than I expected. These cartoons have aged somewhat, but it's nice to go back and look at the ones that started it all. Brak's pizza song and dating tips were great as well!

Keep those toons rolling, this is great.

I don't care what ANYONE says, I loved Cow & Chicken and still do. Staple of my childhood! A wise choice? You be the judge.

The little bits between the cartoons, as good as Cartoon Planet used to be? Yes? No?

The poetry bit was hit-or-miss but I loved Brak's dating tips. "Just give her…a big ol' handshake."
So I'd say…yes, these are pretty entertaining. :)

"Come and get it! Ketchup's HOT!"

Sign says "Frozen Ketchup".

Don't know if that was on purpose or what, but this is the first time I'm noticing it.

Love me some Johnny Bravo and PPG. It's sad that it's only one hour and unlike CCF, not three+ hours. Still, I'm happy that CN is doing this. I haven't seen Cow and Chicken for a while.

A Major Glory episode of Dexter's Lab, "Sight for Sore Eyes" (one of my favorite episodes of Foster's), the Adam West episode of Johnny Bravo, and the Powerpuff Girls birthday episode. Awesome lineup.

All of the segments with Zorak and Brak are hilarious too. :D Here's hoping this block could be a runaway his.

...But like I said. The intros keep getting cropped. Corporate greed at its worst.

At least they haven't done anything else to the shorts.
It's not bad, especially considering that it's not just these shows getting their intros being cut. It's just about every show on the network.

Lol, weird ending.

... They ended it 5 minutes before 9:00. :(

So what is everyone opinion on the block? hit? or miss?

I do feel jipped on that part but all in all...i love it and reminds me of the old days of CN.Hopefully Best of CN compliments DC Nation just as CCF and Toonami complimented each other back in the hay day.

I like how the first PPG episode they show for this block was the one where the villains send em' birthday presents, that was always one of my favorites.

Johnny and Adam West was pretty good too.

Foster's was ok, kind of how I remember it, I always recall not fancying this episode, but it's cool regardless…

Omfg tht sucked so.bad...lol.jk.tht.was the best thing ive ever seen

That was great. I don't know if it'll last any longer than a few weeks, but for what it is (celebrating 20 years of CN) it's just about perfect.

Let's hope it lasts longer, if at anything this adds some much needed variety to CN's lineup. It's not much but it's better than nothing.

One thing I noticed, the Squigglevision-esque font from the original Cartoon Planet is there. Or at least mimicked pretty well.

All in all, I've seen the future lineup for this block, and I'm interested in them giving this another chance. I'm hoping this'll spark interest in these shows again and result in... something. Something like how Family Guy got cancelled, then revived with new episodes. Not exactly like that because pretty much all of these shows have permanently finale'd, but some kind of strong revival, I hope.

EDIT: One thing I noticed, no Sheep In The Big City? Did it run too long or something? I forget how long its episodes were.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
