I find it ironic how Looney Tunes will be airing on CN and not Boomerang, the classic cartoons channel.

Mixed emotions here. A lot of great shows coming but a lot of great shows leaving as well. I suppose that most of them have aired long enough though, so I'm not devastated. I'm just excited for Christmas Party, my favorite part of Boomerang every year!

Everyone who owns cable has Cartoon Network. These cartoons go back at least 3 generations and were very popular. I think CN was the proper choice.

Even so, there's no reason for Looney Tunes to not air on Boomerang as well, since Turner owns both channels. LT on Boomerang actually makes more sense, since Boom is all about old-school.

:^: My cynical businessman side feels that the main reason The Powers That Be are choosing to run Looney Tunes on CN at all, along with JLU, Johnny Bravo and The Pink Panther, is merely an attempt to quell the masses and keep us happy and distracted so they can continue to work on live action projects for CN without cries from protesters.

It's like giving the kids a bag of candy and a handful of DVDs to watch so they'll buzz of to the living room leaving the adults free to do "big people stuff".

Also, I notice that Captain Planet will be running on Boom this month. Ted Turner will be happy. :D

Um, Captain Planet has been running on BOOM for quite some time now. Or were you being sarcastic.

Anyway...

...which is precisely part of the problem with TOON among others, but that's beside the point.

Going back to topic, I've noticed they'eve added Krypto the Superdog to this year's festivities. Well, you can bet I won't be watcing that (what with the show being too recent and all, but this isn't the time or place to discuss that). Anyway, it's been a while since I last saw Inch High Private Eye (which coincidentally, and like Valley of the Dinosuars, is also a show that Kathy Gori was in; she was Lori, Inch High's niece).

It also seems that Boomerang Theater is taking another extended break. Hopefully they'll bring back the other five "Superstars 10" movies that they have been failing to show all year (Yogi's Great Escape, Rockin' WIth Judy Jetson, Top Cat and the Beverly Hills Cats, The Good, The Bad, and Huckleberry Hound, and Yogi and the Invasion of the Space Bears)...

Glad to see that they're bringing back the mini-"Boomeraction" block on late afternoons. "Centurions" has a good amount of episodes (65) to keep it from being stale, and could enjoy a a couple of runs. "Thundarr" and "SWAT Kats" however, have been re-run by BOOM several times over, so I'm hoping that if this block is here to stay that they'll regularly shuffle series in and out of those two timeslots.

I wonder..........if people from Turner/Boomerang are lurking on these boards.

Looney Tunes will eventually be on Boomerang, probably with the next big schedule change. I'm glad they're back nonetheless. I'll watch some of the LT marathon since the Giants are on bye next weekend, and I'll DVR the show during the week.

I like this schedule change overall though. Other than Scooby-Doo Where Are You, I'm not sad to see any of the exiting shows go. That said, they could have chosen a better Scooby series than "What's New" to replace it with. They should also get rid of Wacky Races, Penelope Pitstop, and Banana Splits though. WR and PP don't have enough episodes to warrant the length of time they've been on Boom, and Banana Splits is just plain awful.

I'm glad to see Huckleberry Hound, Hong Kong Phooey, and Dynomutt back though. Dennis The Menace is a good addition too. I'd like to see Superfriends, Alvin & The Chipmunks, and Captain Caveman & The Teen Angels on Boom as well. I'd also wish they'd give Tom & Jerry a better timeslot.

I've been waiting for them to dump Wacky Races and Penelope Pitstop for months now. They're not even that good nowadays.

Agreed. I've never been a Penelope Pitstop fan. I can see why that show only lasted 17 episodes, and since Dastardly & Muttley In Their Flying Machines is returning, Boom doesn't need Wacky Races. Flying Machines is a much better show.

Not a bad schedule. Too many returning shows but we should wait that Looney Tunes bring back on this channel since it's gonna be showed on CN.

10AM Jetsons: "Mister and Mistletoe"

I assume that is supposed to actually be "A Jetsons Christmas Carol" followed by the Popeye short "Mister and Mistletoe" to fill out the half hour.

Exactly, which is why I'm not really excited about LT returning to Cartoon Network, because it just feels like a ploy to dupe the nay-sayers and make them shut up for a while so they can continue to infest the channel with more nonsense.

In my honest opinion, it could be either or, really. That said, all we can do is take this opportunity, and hope that TOON will actually get their act together (if not now, then someday).

In the meantime, we need to keep any talk about Looney Tunes coming back to TOON to the thread that was created about it.

Same here. It's been about 2-3 years since I've watched TV, and this isn't going to change that. I already own all of the shorts anyway (UNEDITED ), so I have my own marathons every day.

CN's been garbage for quite some time save for some of the Adult Swim shows. I'm happy about LT being back though. It made no sense that the most popular toons of all time weren't being aired. I'm sure that LT will air on Boomerang after the next big schedule change.

If CN cared at all about The Garfield Show, they could air Garfield & Friends on Boomerang again to sort of promote TGS.

Flying Machines was just as forgettable, IMO.

Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
