How can you say that? The final act was a parody of "The Bachelor". And the entire Ling Ling runner was straight out of reality shows -- no one in the house is doing the dishes and the one neat freak is pissed off about it. In fact, in almost every up coming episode there is a specific reality show parody, including (but not limited to) "Big Brother" and "The Apprentice." Also, an episode that may not air for a while (Captain Hero is confined to a wheelchair a la Christopher Reeves for two thirds of the show) has an extended parody of cartoon stereotypes that I guarantee can't be done on any other television show. As a side note, that episode was co-written by a 12 year old boy (although you might think that that proves the contention of some of the posters here that the show is juvinile).SirLemming said:What I've seen is not too bad in the comedy department, but the overall concept of the show -- what could make it different from any other animated comedy show other than just the presence of some new jokes -- is being lost. They're doing a lot of very general parodies that, while occasionally funny, could be done on any other show. They don't seem to be doing enough reality show parody. It's turning into just another show, with "confessionals" thrown in whenever they remember that it's supposed to be a reality show parody.
I only saw about half of the episode, but what I saw was getting far removed from the concept and seemed like stuff that could be done on any other show. The only difference was the occasional cutaways to a character talking about what happened. I'm not saying that inherently makes the show unfunny, but it does make the show more generic and lose sight of its original concept. And that concept is a good one.Merrick Bill said:How can you say that? The final act was a parody of "The Bachelor".
