Fantasy Anime Dub Casting Thread

Was the Eyeshield 21 dubbed by the Ocean Group in Vancouver? I hope so!

I hate to say it, but not exactly, dude. When the Toonami Jetstream Online test-dub first webcasted, the voice-dialogue was produced in STUDIOPOLIS, in Studio City in L.A.

And tbh, when I saw the test-dub a while ago (Though, I don't think I saw it on Jetstream, tbh.), I mean the voices for the characters were not-so-bad, I mean some of them were quite cool and fitting, like Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke from Naruto, Capt. Atobe of Team Hyotei and Katsuo from The Prince of Tennis and Zack from MegaMan Star Force) as Sena, and Derek Stephen Prince (Uryu from Bleach, Ichijyoji from Digimon Adventure 02 and Mondo from Mon Colle Knights) as the cruel and cunning, but coolest.... Ya guessed it, Hiruma.

TBH, I honestly ain't got no idea who are the voice-artists for Kurita and Agon in the Studiopolis test-dub.

Inazuma Eleven: Generation One

NOTE: Now I know that the Original Generation series, alongside the Inazuma Eleven GO series has never been dubbed in English, excluding the Ares no Tenbin series.
I mean that to me, the dub for Ares is quite cool, but I honestly did NOT like the Orion series, considering of how some of the squadmates of the Inazuma Japan team (Most notably, Elliot Ember and Xavier Schiller) treated and ignores Sonny Wright (Asutoh Inamori) horribly, like a loser, which he's not, considering of how important he is for the team. It's like how 4KidsTV horribly treated Chris Thorndyke from Sonic X. If you'd ask me, that sickens my soul.

I thought if VIZ Media had owned the English licensing rights, since Yabuno-san's manga was serialized in Shogakukan's "Monthly CoroCoro Dragon" in Japan, and also since Shogakukan owns VIZ Media in America, alongside Shueisha. Hopefully, they don't censor the anime, just for the hardcore Inazuma Eleven fans' sake.
And also, I deeply apologize for listing all the English names from the English dub. Truth is, I'm more of a dub fan and frankly, some of the English names were kinda recognizable to me, which is a bit of a problem to me, quite frankly speaking. And tbh, it is a bit too hard to me to keep up with some of the Japanese character names from each team. Hopefully you'll understand what I'm saying and what I'm talking about.

NOTE: Reason why I wanted to do this is because this anime brings me back memories when watching 4KidsTV on FOX-TV and The CW4Kids on the CW.
But there are some things that I did NOT like, such as the localization, but importantly to me, the worst thing that 4Kids ever did in their dub was how they literally ruined the main human protagonist..... Y'all guessed it, Kid Chris Thorndyke.

To me, Kid Chris was quite of a decent character to me. I mean, he's not all that bad, but the way 4KidsTV changed him into a bratty moron makes my blood boil.

Quite frankly speaking, I was thinking of combining some voice-artists from the NYAV Post and Ocean Studios voice-talent generations, but I thought.... Nah. It's a just bit too unneeded. So, I thought I might combine some reprisals and a bit of some new additions to the voice-cast for the uncut dub of the series.

Final Fantasy Chronicles
NOTE: Imagine if Square Enix had hired MADHOUSE Studios (Black Lagoon, Death Note, X/1999, Cardcaptor Sakura, HBO's Spawn, X-Men: Evolution, Monster, Street Fighter, Hajime no Ippo: Fighting Spirit, Trigun, Claymore, Demon Detective Nougami Neuro) make an anime version, based on the original games, like how they did with the OVA based on Final Fantasy VII, namely: "Last Order".

And I thought I might make a post for the two Final Fantasy Chronicles games. But however, I heard that Chrono Cross was not included in the FFC series, other than its prequel, Chrono Trigger, since it's frankly a sequel to Trigger, not to mention the character designs were completely-different and was made by Nobuteru Yuuki (Vision of Escaflowne, Heat Guy J, Battle Angel OVA, Paradise Kiss, Record of Lodoss War: Original OVA Series, X/1999: The Movie, Kids on the Slope, Ragnarök Online, New Space Pirate Captain Harlock: Outside Legend - The Endless Odyssey), rather than Toriyama-sensei's own artistic designs, long before he passed away months and months ago.

Since that VIZ Media only dubs anime based on their manga projects from Shueisha, Shogakukan and some from Hakusensha, I think that FUNimation Entertainment (I honestly DON'T care about Crunchyroll, tbh. Now no offense to all of everyone's opinions, I'm just expressing myself.) would take the job on it, but imagine if they open some voice-recording studios from a different local generation (i.e. Los Angeles: North Hollywood, Texas: Dallas, Canada: Vancouver, B.C. and New York City.), therefore some fans wouldn't be disappointed by the new voices for the main characters they know and love (Most notably, FFIV.), while "decently-liking" the voices for the other two Chrono games.

NOTE: Here's why I wanted to do this. I've always wanted to see a "faithful, but gritty" anime adaptation of the Justice League Heroes characters, "where the concepts of the hit Snowblind Studios videogame meets the stories ripped from the pages of DC's headlines", just for hardcore DC Universe fans, also hardcore fans of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League. If the Super Mario anime movie from 1986 had gotten an English dub "back in the day", this is who I think might (or might not) have gotten cast:

Mario: Peter Cullen (reprising his role from Saturday Supercade)

Luigi: Frank Welker

with Gallagher (alternately, Rowdy Roddy Pipe, or even...Captain Lou Albano!) as Bowser, King of the Koopa

and introducing Debbie Gibson as Princess "Toadstool" (as she was called at the time)

You see, if it had been given a dub back then, she would have been called Princess Toadstool, even though she had always been called "Peach" in Japan. As for Gallagher and Debbie Gibson, in the Japanese version, she was voiced by Mami Yamase, an at the time up and coming j-pop singer. In other words, it was like getting Debbie Gibson, or even Tiffany to play her. Also, since it likely would have come out in 1987, maybe even 1988 at the latest, it probably would have featured a special/early version of her song "Only in My Dreams" (her debut single in 1987). For Bowser ("Koopa" in Japan), he was voiced by Akiko Wada, a female R&B singer, which was like getting Aretha Franklin or Patti LaBelle, but in this case, it was a very unusual choice. Based on this idea, I went with Gallagher (as in, the comedian known for his "Sledge-O-Matic" routine), since that would have also been unusual. To be safe, however, I chose Roddy Piper as an alternate, along with Captain Lou Albano (that's right, the voice of Mario from "The..." "...Super Show"), since Bowser is supposed to be written as a comedic character who has fallen in love with "Peach-chan" (this dub likely would have had him call her "Stoolie" or something similar).

Meanwhile, I'm not sure who would have played the other characters, such as the (female) Toads they rescue, or Lakitu, or the Goomba who tries to trick them.

X-Men Legends

NOTE: Here's why I wanted to do this. I've always wanted to see a "faithfully-blended, but gritty" anime adaptation of the X-Men Legends series and characters, "where the concepts of the hit Activision/Raven Software videogames, meets the stories ripped from Marvel's headlines", just for hardcore Marvel Universe fanatics. And of course, I've wanted to see Fox21. and Marvel Knights (If they WEREN'T acquired by Disney. If you'd ask me, it bugged me of Disney outrightly bought out 20th Century Fox and Marvel. Very greedy, if you'd ask me.) to collaborate and create this project (Like how 20th Century Fox used to do with THEIR own movie adaptations of the X-Men.), in collaboration with Studio MADHOUSE.

Super Mario Strikers

NOTE: Y'know, I've always wanted to see an anime adaptation of Super Mario Strikers, alongside a few other Mario All-Stars games (such as Mario Power Tennis, Mario Super Sluggers and Super Smash Bros. Brawl), under the supervision of Nintendo International Licensed Products.
And, I thought that 4KidsTV would be a fitting client, since they did dubbed a few anime adaptations of Nintendo games (Such as Pokémon, Kirby and F-Zero: GP Legend)..... in a "cult-fave" way. (At least, they cut the crap with the Americanization and all that horsecrap, when they did THEIR dub of Tai Chi Chasers.) But, to give the Mario All-Stars characters' voices a little "punch-striking" and a little more "all-star", by adding and combining some Los Angeles-based and Vancouver-based anime voice talent, to fit the concept and assembling an all-star crack team of cinematic expert talent of directors, character designers, animation, art, conceptual designs and all-star/world-class music.

And with this voice-cast and all-star talent suggestion, hypothetically, I actually thought they would likely stream it on 4KidsTV.com and ToonamiJetstream.com. I think.
