Fox hires Mark Millar to help develop their Marvel films.

I really wish they wouldn't be so greedy and just let FF go. Concentrate on XMen only.

I do as well but now that they've seemed to have probably lost one franchise, I doubt that they'll let another one slip by just yet. I am interested to see what direction Josh Trank might take it though. Hopefully, it's something that rings truer than the last pair of flicks.

20th Century Fox announced today that Mark Millar will serve as creative consultant for the studio's Marvel Comics adaptations.

So, in other words, he's just there for brand recognition.

Just like how George Lucas is a "creative consultant" for Disney's Star Wars films, and Joe Barbera was "creative consultant" for Tom & Jerry: The Movie. It means jack squat.

Unless they give him a role which requires more involvement than just being a yes-man on the script and giving him an unneeded credit and paycheck, bringing Millar on board won't do a damn thing for their future movies. It's more executive meddling, as usual.

I don't want Mark Miller within a thousand miles of these movies, I've never read any of his comics work that I like, so if he's just there in name, that's OK with me.
