DC India is stuck in 4:3 as well. And DXD India. And DJ India.

Probably because most of the Indian TV audience still use CRT TVs instead of widescreen ones. Even more, I don't think they want to purchase a new TV set if most channels (even DTT ones) are still letterboxed, it doesn't help at all.

Off topic, but are most of Indians homophobic or not? Just curious.

It doesn't really matter, anyway. As far as I know, DIHD is an additional pay-TV channel, so you have to pay more in order to have it. People that purchased the channel must be aware of dialogue-and-scene-uncensored shows.

Will DC Russia ever switch to widescreen? It's almost 2018. Insane.

There are enough FTA channels in 16:9 since most of the Russian audience has already purchased widescreen sets, so it wouldn't take so long for Disney to switch from 4:3. The channel looks great, though.

You seem to share my theory!

There are enough FTA channels in 16:9 since most of the Russian audience has already purchased widescreen sets, so it wouldn't take so long for Disney to switch from 4:3. The channel looks great, though.

If the channel goes 16:9, it will look twice as great as it is.

In fact, as I said, DC RU looks like a regional independent channel from Buryatia or an STS relayer in Murmansk if we contrast it to the two kids channels VGTRK runs alone and the VGTRK-Channel One joint-venture Carousel.

Yep. They are there possibly to fill the gap between the ads and the currently playing promo
AKA when you have to mess up the shared feeds instead of putting actual efforts to create a separate feed
The same reason we still have voice-over or "lecture" for CN Asia. Either that or budget issues, but I don't think it is because of the budget

Must be a local advertisements due to which country you live in. The promo is outdated and it gone really old.

I think to minor feeds only

And since DC Asia uses a 30 minutes based schedule, a lot of fillers are need.. however, they have a break in the middle of the shows, so that the breaks are not too long

This is kind of weird. Almost no terrestrial channel in SE Asia follows the American schedule standard. Even the Philippines have shows starting at odder times.
