"On Friday, May 15th ufotable announced through its official X (formerly Twitter) channel the main voice cast for its upcoming movie adaptation of Type-Moon’s visual novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night).
Taking place during the late 1980’s, Mahoutsukai no Yoru focuses on three teenagers living in Misaki town. Dark rumors surround a mansion where a witch supposedly lives. High school student Aoko Aozaki moves in to the mansion to learn magic from a reclusive mage named Alice Kuonji. The latter is suspected by the townspeople of Misaki to be the much-feared witch. Sōjūrō Shizuki is a normal boy without magical ability who goes to the same high school as Aoko. He is forced to move into the mansion after witnessing the girls using magic. Under mage law this is an act of mercy. Normally, Sōjūrō would have either been killed or had his mind wiped clean of all memories. Together the three must put on an uneasy masquerade of being normal humans trying to live a peaceful life. However, dark forces are approaching that threaten to break their deception and claim their lives…"
