What was the overall message of this episode? That being a Superhero is way cooler then being a civilian? That Gwen Stacy is much cooler as a Superhero? That it's all about the will to want to save people and help out? Didn't really feel like this episode had a clear thematic thoroughline beyond "Gwen gets her powers back"

.
The Bloodgem? The thing that gives Elsa Bloodstone and her dad their abilities? Kind of a random thing to throw in there if you're not going to address the family at all

.
Oh hey, they replicated the
Amazing Fantasy #15 cover with Spider-Gwen

.
I did not miss those random slow-motion scenes

.
I love that Anya has pockets in her costume that she uses to carry her own note to leave for the police. Like, she treats it so seriously but she still made a note that she just carries around

.
Now that Gwen has her powers back, does that mean the only major characters without powers are Jonah, Max, and Aunt May? Harry's got his Goblin tech. Maybe we need Mary Jane just for a teen character who's not a Superhero

.
So...Gwen has inexplicable gliding powers? I mean, Web Wings, but I don't know if she should be able to do that with just any material like a jacket. It was just kind of random

.
So, Team Spider has Peter as the leader (presumably after he gets back), Miles as the overly-exciteable and goofy one, Anya is the serious and cautions one, and Gwen is the confident and take-charge one. All we're missing is the rebel bad boy and we'll have a fairly reasonable Superhero team (by Spider-Man standards)

.
Tinkerer and Scorpion was an interesting combination, especially since they're treated as pretty low on the villain ladder in this series and get taken on by the "sidekicks." Although Tinkerer's voice is really grating

.
Does it really take three spider-people to take out Scorpion? I mean, I know a proper Scorpion can give Spidey a good run for his money but this is the second Supervillain Peter ever beat (and on his own) and even before he got the Bloodgem upgrade he was basically handing Miles and Anya their butts

.
Scorpion going giant felt a little "been there, done that" after seeing Lizard get turned into a Kaiju...
I feel so bad for Miles on this show. People keep talking about Spider-Man being missing or trying to force him to show up while Miles is
right there. Not to mention, despite having seniority on the girls as far as powers and experience, it felt like they basically took over taking care of things while Miles was just along for the ride. They even point out how bad a quipper he is

.
That justification for the Ghost Spider codename felt so tacked on and forced. They really just went with it because it sounded cool after someone made an innocuous comment. Not the best origin story for a Superhero name. Not even sure why she needs a codename if she's fine with being called Spider-Gwen

.
Slowly teasing the Superior storyline with Spider-Man/Peter missing and not addressing crime in New York. I'm not looking forward to the other Spider-Heroes meeting SpOck

.
I can understand Gwen going back to the full costume now that she has her powers back permanently but why did she bother making a mask? It still doesn't seem like she's concerned about having a secret identity (especially when she put her face on that note to the police), everyone should recognize it's her wearing the exact same costume she wore during Spider-Island, and she seems to like the attention. Did she just not want to feel left out again since Miles and Anya wear masks
