I have to say that Mighty Magiswords is now my favorite CN short now. I watched all 10 shorts from CN On Demand and played all 15 segments from CN Anything.

You know, being a fanboy geek of TV's Kyles work (he is one of my inspiration for animating and accordion playing) , I dug up some info on Magiswords. Idk if people around this place know it as well, but I just want to say these facts:

-Kyle created the characters in high school in 1996 for a high school comedy entitled "Zeddy".
-Kyle pitched it to Cartoon Network in 2005-2006 entitled Legendary Warriors for Hire. Kyle later revamped it as Dungeons and Dayjobs in 2007 for adult audiences.
-Prohyas was originally a magician with a hat, Vambre was the serious leader wearing PANTS and the thief Phil and Princess Zange were main characters of the bunch.
-Kyle Carrozza himself voiced Prohyas as well as the announcer who said the magiswords names. He also did additional voices for Grup the Dragon, Oldman Oldman, Nohyas, the Tree-j, Robopiggeh, Goomer, Franklo, the Underground Handbeast, the Attacktus and the off-screen slug burger clerk. Kyle also did the music score and the storyboards.
-Prohyas was originally named Prohias and gained his name after Antonio Prohias, creator of Spy vs Spy.
-The inspiration of the characters were from RPG games.
-You can hear the instrumental version of "Phil took my dolphin away" (from the episode "Dolphinominal") on some episodes.
-To Boulderly Go, The Land Before Slime, Hands Down, Bark Attack and Dolphinominal have the same title card pirate-esque accordion music while Pig Iron, Zombie Reasonable, Attacktus and Whose Hyas is it? have the same title card adventerous-esque accordion music. No Robots for Old Men does not have a title card music, with the exception of a sword slashing SFX at the beginning.
-Grup the Dragon was originally named Prug the Dragon.
-The episode "Attacktus" references Evil Dead 2 where Prohyas activates his Chainsaw Magisword like in the movie, and says "Groovy" in a similar tone like Ash Williams' character.
-Nohyas is a mysterious doppleganger, possibly based off of Negaduck from Darkwing Duck (one of Kyle's few favorite cartoons).
-Nohyas' voice is based off of Macho Man Randy Savage (one of the impressions Kyle can do good).
-Nohyas made Prohyas sound like Sylvester the Cat.
-Comedy musician Great Luke Ski is a storyboard revisionist, writer and additional voice actor for the upcoming Magiswords epps.
-Doug Lawrence is a head writer for the upcoming Magiswords epps.
-Weird Al Yankovic (who Kyle got his music inspiration from) will guest voice in an upcoming Magiswords episode.

How does anyone else feel about Magiswords now? Is it good or lame? Also, what do you guys hope for the upcoming Magiswords episodes? And what do you feel about Kyle's work to this day?

For me, I hope that future Magiswords epps will:
-Have a Scottish character voiced by Kyle
-References / cameos of MooBeard, Strawberry Fields, Zeddy, Riley Raccoon
-More awesome magiswords released
-Cool original songs
-Characters voiced by Kyle based on impressions / cartoony voices (Kyle can do a lot of impressions, ask and I'll list)
-ACCORDION SOLOS
-A movie?! (Your pushin it!)

Let's hope Magiswords keeps on going so it can be bigger and popular.

P.S. Hypothesis: The Mysterious Hooded Woman (whose name we should learn) is actually Prohyas and Vambre's mother. Do you guys agree or have any ideas of your own?

Thank you.

Is there a middle option for the poll?

Yeah, Mighty Magiswords is pretty deece. It's a nice little webtoon that I like enough to watch every now and then.

I agree. Even though I lost all respect for Kyle, he has good talent for art and voices, which is one of the reasons that makes Mighty Magiswords enjoyable.

Is this referring to when John K. criticized him (I think something like this happened) or was there a separate event that led to this?

Well, I never thought someone would reply to why I lost respect for him, even though it should be about Magiswords, but ok. To answer your question, it's Both. My reason for losing respect for him is kind of similar to the reason why "Quagmire hates Brian". Kyle became the new John K. I used to worship that guy like a god (I rented an accordion because of him). But later in the years, he let all of the fame go to his head. Because of digital use, Kyle left behind appeal drawings, expressions that made sense and can't take a piece of constructive criticism. I never mind him drawing in Flash or brush pens because they still had the Bob Clampett-esque look to it. But the moment he started drawing on Photoshop, and gained a show on CN, he became this. I loved FRS and MooBeard and some of his flash vids, but to this point, I think Kyle has peaked. He seems to have forgotten the concept of appeal, even to the point that in his new show, he's not animating anything at all. All he's doing is storyboarding, writing, music scoring and voice acting, if you pay attention to the credits he put on his Tumblr account.

Now the moment I stumbled upon this, http://clxcool.deviantart.com/journal/The-artist-who-acted-like-a-child-546911215, made me lose respect for him. I never thought that a man at his age with the basic necessities would sink so low as to cyberbully a fan like that, because he can't take criticism. Kyle publicily (and often taclessly) criticizes others and bashes out to people who can't take his criticism. One of the people that messaged the fan was Sam Erdini (Kyle's friend who as you can see made an animated cameo with him as cats in the MooBeard short). And Kyle saying "You are an angry little man?" Seriously? What is he thinking? All because of criticising the title cards? Just because he said he's not a fan of the show. He says he likes the designs, admits that there are some points of Fanboy he likes and this is how he repaid him? ("I worked at the soup kitchen, Kyle. Never seen you down there?! Wanna help? GRAB A LADLE!)

It happened to me too. A few years back, I interviewed Kyle on Facebook. He seemed like a real pal and sweet man, until I asked him why he didn't direct MooBeard. I told him if was funny that he can animate, storyboard, design MooBeard but can't direct it. He called me a WISEASS and demanded that I tell him how to direct a cartoon. I apologized and he laughed at my face and snobbingly told me why. Another time, I asked him why didn't he make Frog Raccon Strawberry a cartoon instead of MooBeard. He tried to talk down on me like I'm a 3rd grader by telling me, You don't go to a studio, say your gonna make a cartoon and expect them to let you make it. I madly corrected him and he gave me the correct answer. And last but not least, I asked him if he was still able to draw WB cartoons after going digital. He thought I was asking for art from him and he responded "I'm not here to do free artwork for you!". I corrected him again but he had to leave.

Who the heck for him to talk down to anyone huh? I think it's not just John K's criticism of his art in his blog in 2007, but because Kyle struggled through his career of getting a job but having to pass, quit or get fired. He got fired at JumpStart, made no profit on FRS and Antarctic Press (he backlashed at a kid for his idea on doing web cartoons again by saying it was worthless and non profitable, yet he made Frog Raccoon at Dumm Comics for 3-4 years and didn't make a single penny), got rejected at Nick and Cartoon Network and Tokyopop, rejected by Frederator a few times, passed on a job at Disney and Startoons, quit his job at THQ and had little-to-no voice work. But you know, I would have been able to forgive all of that, all of it, if he wasn't such a child. That's just it. Kyle is a pathetic, sad, hot-headed child without the concept of appeal or constructive criticism.

P.S.: A friend of mine came up with the concept of backlashing Kyle by doing a comic based similar to the Frog Raccoon Strawberry strip about John K, and I'm volunteering to help him make it.

*phew* Well, I'm done with Kyle. Now, back to discussing on Magiswords.

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
