More Ninja Turtles On DVD!

I purchased the first one at Best Buy last week for 9.99. The first TMNT was very good and the rest were barely tolerable.

Whaddya mean, the first TMNT DVD is hard to find? Whenever I head to Wal-Mart, they always have a section full of TMNT DVDs. Unfortunately, I keep forgetting to buy one. (I MUST get one!)

Any word if this is going to be a double feature disc with both 2 and 3 on it or if they are separate releases? I'd also like to know if a widescreen version will be on the disc, but given given New Line calling this a "family" title I'm a little scared

Update: does anybody know a contact number or amil addy for New Line, so we can try and get this cleared up?

TMNT DVDs are scarce around here. I can't find any around here at all. As for the sequels, they will be released on seperate discs. New Line hasn't clarified the specs yet, but will soon.

No the first TMNT was barely tolerable and full of camp. The second one was intended to be a comedy and succeeded. The third one should have been a dtv release.

I have been wanting to see the 2nd TMNT is widescreen for a long time. I knew that they would put it out on dvd someday.

I liked the first movie the best. In the TV series, everyone was in perfect harmony, but at least Raph had some issues. And I liked Donatello's name-fight with Casey when they're building the truck. That was funny. And the Shredder was so much more of a bad-ass than in the TV series.

The second movie was alright, but it coulda been done without Vanilla Ice. I did think the costumes looked a lot better than the ones in the first movie. Tokha and Razar where nice additions and were actually pretty cool. Although Don got to show more smarts, he was never the genius he was in the cartoons. The movie Don never made an interdimensional gateway out of a toaster.

The third movie was crap, although there were some good moments. The cotumes were just pitiful. Sure, they were pretty small and skinny compared to the previous two versions, but the Turtles are supposed to be bulky. Overall the film was a little too hokey for me.

I lost my TMNT 3 some time ago, but never to fear now, because I can finally get it on DVD (as well as TMNT 2). I hope they make a special edition box set. Though I already own the first movie on both tape and DVD. A box set would be as you say "radical". I can't wait!

I also got the first TMNT Movie DVD, I got it some long time ago at a Virgin Records store in this huge fancy mall not very far from me called Grapvine Mills. I like the first TMNT movie, loved TMNT 2, and TMNT 3 was..... okay. I hope they also put the special "coming out of their shells tour" consert show from that famous New York theator on DVD as well.

Well Jim just updated the release and it looks to have an anamorphic widescreen transfer on both of the disks - great news for all of us fans!

I was just recently thinking about purchasing the TMNT DVD. Does it have any deleted scenes or cool extras? If its only 10 bucks im definitely getting it regardless but i was just wondering.

It's great that the 2nd and 3rd movies are now on DVD, but I would rather have a Special Edition of the 1st movie with all the deleted scenes. The director has already stated that he would be willing to work on it, but whether it happens or not is up to New Line. You can read what Peter Laird said about it here.
