Mysticons Talkback

The animation feels 10 years out of date(...)

It has this webisode-look to it that does make it seem a little cheap, true. But I'd still say the animation itself is decent and fluid most of the time, especially in action scenes.

What I can really compliment this show for are the clever small plot twists within the episodes. Most of them have at least one little surprise I don't see coming, or at least not until right before the reveal.

Also, I'm glad they revealed the cloaked figure rather soon and didn't play the "Let's pretend nobody has guessed their very obvious identity already"-game like some others do.

The animation feels 10 years out of date, but honestly that aside I think it's pretty charming and does relatively well with what it has.
All the characters are fun and likable for the most part, and the story and world are engaging even if not the most original thing in the world.

I hope this defies the odds and becomes a hit (or at least big enough to Nick not to pull a Ladybug on it), but things aren't stacked in it's favor. Still even if it doesn't get any bigger than it is, I'm glad it exists.
It's like you're saying Nickelodeon is sexist towards girl-centric cartoons or something like that.

Now I'm not saying they are...but they haven't exactly proven otherwise.
The Loud House is s pretty good counter argument though

This show's existence is a good counter argument. Mysticons was originally invisioned with a cast consisting of boys. Nelvana changed it at Nickelodeon's behest.

The newest episode was awful. They let the bad guys get away with the Dragon Disk, meaning the codex piece will never be found, and now evil rules the realm. Are you kidding me? YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO LET THE BAD GUYS WIN! YOU RUINED IT, NELVANA! YOU RUINED IT FOR ALL OF US! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN NEVER TO TRUST A CARTOON FROM CANADA. After all, it's the same country that brought us wonderful shows like Almost Naked Animals! In short, it was, without a doubt, the worst episode ever.

I am just shocked that Dragmart or whatever the skeletor looking guy's name is was behind this and not the Tazma, she seemed much smarter than Dragmart.

Anyway looks like after next week hiatus, which could mean Canada is going to be way ahead of us.

Heart of Gold and Scourge of the Seven Skies were pretty sweet/enjoyable,

Emerald's major focus was great.
Nice seeing Emerald's family, Emerald's mother, best mother character:D.
Piper with Emerald's brothers was funny, hehehe.
The Mysticons vs. Baron Dreadbane was sweet.
Emerald's father's character development with Emerald was sweet.

Kitty and the Pink Skulls, my favorite awesome new villains, Kitty is cute, love her sweet character design:D.
Arkanya/Piper are right that she's the enemy.
Cool seeing Kymraw and the biker orcs, the poor loser villains, hehehe:p.
Kitty like Gilda Griffin/Elodie on the old friend villain formula.
Kitty and the Pink Skulls get away with the Dragon Disk.
A sad moment with poor Arkanya, Emerald, and Piper leaving poor Zarya, they'll be together next episode.
Kitty hired by Baron Dreadbane, his evil plan on wanting the Dragon Disks is interesting, it would've been Tazma who hired Kitty.

Hey, hey now! There's plenty of show left to go. Why not let it play out? Adversity and hardship builds drama and character.

You mentioned one of your biggest early problems was the main characters not trusting each other. Then, didn't you like watching them learn to trust each other as they spent more time together?

This show has some pretty heavy shifts in tone: On one hand, there are pirates calling themselves "Pink skulls" and super heroes with really obvious secret identities who nobody recognizes even when they call each other by their real names in battle, while at the same time the characters' inner struggles and insecurirites take up a major focus and some have pretty serious backstories,
like Zarya having been kidnapped by pirates when she was a kid.
It's like one part of the show is made for little kids and the other for a young teenage audience.

I am loving this show so far. I think I will go out on a limb I think its better than Miraculous Ladybug. At least we have a plot here.

So, Nickelodeon has pulled new episodes of the show indefinitely and now new episodes will be solely on Nicktoons, Wednesdays at 8:30 PM.

Ugh. Of course... This show had the potential of being a hit show on the main network but of course Nickelodeon US doesn't want to take any chances... :(

Mysticons is still listed as being on Nick on Zap2it.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
