Since Comcast buys DreamWorks Animation, Blaming the Emoji Movie for making me lose chance of getting the rights to Smurfs and bring it to Disney (since Sony Animation could possibly shut down), With Disney made the dubs done right to the Studio Ghibli movies and that 4Kids is no longer here (well it's still here, but now it's 4K Media and make dubs of nothing but Yu-Gi-Oh! series, while the other one is now called 4Licensing Corporation)

I was thinking of Disney purchasing Rainbow s.r.l., an Italian animation studio who made Winx Club, Monster Allergy, Huntik, PopPixie, etc. to expand their TV business and their market to Europe. Not only Disney would get the rights to Winx Club, Monster Allergy, Huntik, etc., but also they would let Rainbow to make animated series based on Disney IPs (example: Star Wars: Resistance, a prequel to The Force Awakens and focus on General Leia and the rise of the Resistance, co-produced with Lucasfilm Animation. i made a poster for this.) and to install "Disney TV Brain Trust", to improve the story and animation to Rainbow's projects.

With Craig McCracken now at Disney (which he created Wander over Yonder for Disney), I was thinking that Disney should bring more childhood cartoonists heroes like Genndy Tartakovsky, Lauren Faust, David Feiss, Danny Antonucci, C.H. Greenblatt, Maxwell Atoms, Tony Craig, Robert Gannaway, etc. to be part of a Pixar-style brain trust for Disney Television Animation, which i caled "Disney TV Brain Trust" with Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh being the leader, similar to how John Lasseter did with Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Disney Television Animation and Rainbow s.r.l. would merge into a combined Italian-American company, Disney Television Animation Group, which consist in two animation studios, Disney Television Animation and Rainbow s.r.l. (similar to Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios) with Iginio Straffi to be the president, but he would still be in charge of Rainbow and Joanne Lee to be the executive director of both Disney Television Animation and Rainbow s.r.l.

As long as Disney can make a deal with Viacom about their 30% stake, they sure be an exchange deal, which Viacom would get the rights to Doug back from Disney, if Disney gets the 30% of Rainbow. Also, Disney would sell the rights to W.I.T.C.H. to Saban.

I hope that happens, Because it would be awesome seeing the Winx Club and the other Rainbow characters in Disney Infinity (Which hasn't been discussed about Reviving yet, Due to Avalanche Software being revived by WB).

I don't know but W.I.T.C.H. is a Disney property since the comics that the show was based on was published by Disney's Italian division, so chances of the franchise moving from Disney to Saban wouldn't happen.

If they buy Rainbow, what will happen to Winx Club? Will it leave Nicktoons (or Nickelodeon, depending on which country) and move to either Disney XD or Disney Channel?

Same goes for Regal Academy, which is currently airing new episodes on Nickelodeon at Saturday Mornings. If Disney does buy Rainbow, It might be a bit confused.....

I really don't think Disney would be interested in Rainbow, especially since Viacom owns 30% of the company, and why would they sell W.I.T.C.H. to Saban if they can do nothing like they did with Peter Pan and the Pirates.

But some Italian companies could buy Rainbow (Rai can't buy them because it's a state-owned company):

- DeAgostini has quite a presence on cartoons, co-producing Miracolous Ladybug, owning DeaKids (who airs Winx Club), DeaJunior and 50% of Super! (co-owned by Viacom, who also owns 30% of Rainbow), so DeAgostini buying Rainbow would make more sense.

- Mediaset dosen't have it's own animation studio and hasn't had a presence on children's television for quite a while, so they could be another possible buyer for Rainbow, also Rainbow owns Colorado Film, who produces the Colorado series on Italia 1 and various comedy films, Mediaset could benefit a lot from buying Rainbow.

- Cairo Communication would be an interesting fit, since their channel La7 dosen't have animated shows on the schedule.

I don't think Italian divisions of other companies would be interested in Rainbow.

Disney owns the rights to W.I.T.C.H. I rather they try to reboot it and make that work as opposed to buying up a similar property, and all that comes with the company.
I fail to see Disney buying any girl-centric IPs when they already own a lot of their own, and can always make their own that can compete with whatever's popular at the moment with ease.

Even though it has gone dormant as of late, Disney did create Star Darlings as another IP in 2015. A W.I.T.C.H. revival could be happening sooner than we think:

Maybe, if the new releases sell, Disney could consider a new W.I.T.C.H. animated series to green light in the near future. So, with that news from Yen Press, we can instantly throw out any idea Disney is going to sell W.I.T.C.H. to anybody, very likely forever. In fact, if it's truly a Disney created property, the odds of Disney selling it are almost zero. The only exception in the past decade I can think of was Power Rangers and its similar live-action shows, which are IPs that will always be co-owned with Toei in Japan, meaning Disney would never have had full control over it, like with Marvel and Lucasfilm.

And there is another European animation studio that I feel Disney would be interested in before Rainbow:

Zagtoon would likely be considered first before Rainbow, considering Miraculous Ladybug already airs on the Disney Channels in Europe, and there already is someone there who worked on the W.I.T.C.H. animated series when it was at S.I.P. Animation.

Zagtoon and Rainbow are more close to De Agostini than to Disney, De Agostini owns french Banijay Group (owner of Totally Spies!, a show Ladybug's creator worked on), has co-produced Ladybug, and Winx Club airs on De Agostini's own DeaKids.

Wow. I didn't know they were reprinting the comic. Maybe they'll rerun the shows or make them available for download.

Well, Disney XD now has Star and the Forces of Evil.

I dont think this would work nor make sense. Rainbow belongs with Nick where it feels right at home. With Disney it would just be awkward.

Maybe they'll rerun the show

Well, if they would air it in the country it was created, Italy, Disney would have to deal with Discovery Communications.

Because W.I.T.C.H was a Jetix show, it was included in the Switchover Media (a successor to Jetix Italy) library, Switchover Media was later bought by Discovery in 2013.

Yes but Disney produced the show with SIP Animation (which used to be Fox Kids Europe's animation studio before the Disney acquisition of Saban Entertainment, resulted in it being rebranded), Super RTL (which Disney owns 50% of the network, the other being RTL), Jetix (which was de facto successor of Fox Kids) and France Television and the comics that the show was based on was published by Disney's Italian division.
