Milo was some child who had a pet goldfish. Later, when Milo was fed up with his life, he became a merman and his pet goldfish became a younger merman brother named Cody.

It is revealed that Milo also rescued a fish that looked like him from the pet store where Fish Hooks is set when it went out of business in 2014.
