So...
In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.

Master Wu is being played by Jackie Chan
Garmadan is being played by Justin Theroux
Lloyd's mom (Koko) played by Olivia Munn
Nya is played by Abbi Jacobson
Zane is played by Zach Woods
Kai is played by Michael Peña
Jay is played by Kumail Nanjiani
Cole is played by Fred Armisen
Lloyd is played by Dave Franco

That's a decent cast.

Why the name change from Misako Garmadon to Koko Garmadon? This is a twist I didn't expect.

That's a pretty solid cast, though I think it would be neat, if unfeasible and unlikely, if they could fit in the cartoon VA's in cameo's :).

I also wonder what the animation will look like compared to the show and the other Lego movies o_O?

I'm also curious if "Weekend Whip" will make into the movie somehow...

An image of Lord Garmadon from The Lego Ninjago Movie has been revealed with the possibility of a new trailer releasing alongside The Lego Batman Movie as I expected.

I wonder if they'll reference the TV show's theme song in the trailer, even though this is a separate universe from the show.

There was also a brief description of Sensei Wu's character for The Master short that aired in front of Storks last year. In UK, the short is airing in front of The Lego Batman Movie for a few days.

Oh sweet! That's what the team looks like? Kai's hair looks more wild, Lloyd looks a little older, Zane's hair is more pointed upwards while Nya, Jay and Cole look the most different. Nya looks like she's wearing blue-violet instead of burgundy and light blue (which I think is a better choice); Jay is wearing dark blue instead of light blue, has freckles and messy hair; and Cole looks like more of a samurai with his haircut.

I wonder how kids who watch the show are going to respond to all the changes in the movie version.

Considering how the shows been running for a few years, they probably won't be happy with such a big change. I don't even know why they insist on doing it differently but I hope it works out for them. It's interesting if people want to see TWO Lego movies in the same year.

Well, it was nice to see some proper footage, but the Taylor Swift song kind of ruined it for me. I hope the full trailer doesn't include any oddly included pop songs.

Well, I'm disappointed to hear Taylor Swift's Bad Blood again. I don't think it fits and they likely just included it to refer to Lloyd's relationship to Garmadon. Plus, we didn't get to hear/see much of the other characters besides Lloyd, Wu and Garmadon. This was an okay trailer, but it's only reinforced the idea that I won't like certain changes they've made. I'm still interested in the movie itself though.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
