I bet they wont make the mistake of misusing Supes next season. if Bruce read these boards he knows how much Supes gets dissed so i think Bruce and co will try to make him look better.

And how about we, once and for all, put the gold emblem on the back of his cape like it's supposed to be. I don't want to hear, "It's too difficult to draw." The animators have technological advances. I'm not asking to recreate all of flippin' Disney!

I agree this topic is worthy of a tread.
They should put the yellow symbol back on Superman's cape and they should put the yellow oval behind Batman's chest mark

The time it takes to draw that stuff affects how quickly the episodes get made. We want a certain quality in the animation but we want more JL. So there's a little give and take with each animation decision. It's a Yellow S on the cape and yellow oval behind the Bat symbol v. more JL episodes. Wouldn't you choose the latter?

I like the costume without the yellow "S" shield on the cape. I just wish Supes would go back to his black w/ red highlights undies and boots, rather than the all red ones he wears right now.


And I'm fairly certain that Timm knows that if he doesn't make Superman more super by the time Darkseid shows up in season 2 he will be hunted down by angry rabid fanboys and beaten within an inch of his life with a wet noodle.

Personally, I like the Batsuit without the yellow oval. I always preferred the TNBA batsuit to the BTAS batsuit, and the TNBA one is similar to the JL one

Well realistically Batman would be just as well off to put a big 'ol red and white target circle on his chest as the yellow oval.

yeah, except there's more lines on his stomach, he has longer ears, and his boots are shorter.

I would definitely like to see Superman be a little bit more "Super", more in-line with S:TAS, but no more than that.
They hit a pretty perfect power level there, and he didn't have to get angry to avoid being tossed around as much as he does in JL.

As far as his look goes, I think the current design is just fine. I say leave the all-yellow sheild off of the cape. I was never a big fan of that, anyway... I always wondered why it wasn't at least red and yellow like the one on his chest. I think just the plain red cape is the best look- clean and regal, like Superman should be.
I was also never one who thought the JL design made him look too old, just maybe a little more rugged and mature, which is fine with me. I liked the S:TAS design, but I think the new look is better.

Oh, and definitely no yellow oval around Batman's symbol...
Just the plain black bat is fine, although a bit larger would be OK.

They have enough trouble animating the logo on his chest. Just think how bad it would be if he had it on his cape too. It wouldn't look pretty, and would probably ruin it. I think it makes perfect sense not to have it.

And personally, I'd like it a lot of Superman's design got a lot closer to SupermanTAS, and the gold S emblem added. Those two things would be cool, but I still like him how he is though.
